lol what happened?

my road ride was good, albeit deceptively cold. riding these suburbs is boring but i try to make it fun by riding super duper fast, ya know? but i'm still slow

Crashed pretty hard on the 930, snapped a chain on a short climb that intersects two descents. Was just getting out of the saddle when it snapped and was still carrying a bunch of momentum. I'm ok, luckily the ground is still soft.

You've been having some chains breaking issues haven't you? Wasn't that a devil you snapped?

The devil snapped in December, this one I'm blaming myself for since I know better, sram pc1. Sticking to shimano or izumi from here on out.

Any idea why you're having so much chain trouble? That's pretty nuts.

I honestly have no idea, it is not a chainline issue chainline's perfect. Every chain I snapped on a fixed gear has been 1/8th, yet when I had the pista, I never had chain problems and was running 3/32nd. Same with the dmr 3/32nd chain, no poblems. The one I did snap recently on the dmr, I know how that happend, twisted link. Guess I should check the frame before riding it again.

tonight i went to whole foods to fill my 3 growlers. as i was unlocking the ogre (after sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender and drinking 3 pints) the biggest, most random downpour happened. its about 30* here right now, and it was the most miserable ride home that i've ever had.
here i sit on the couch with the heater on, in my long johns sipping on a 3 philosophers beer.

Frame's ok, just a pc1 being a pc1. Izumi chains from here on with the 930. Shimano on the dmr.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about them (other than a finicky set up.)

Can't beat the price either.

The movie isn't a documentary about meat eating being cruel. It simply sticks to the facts about what meat does in your body and health issues that are exacerbated by eating meat. The one that really gets me is the link to cancer. It appears that eating animal based protein is like tossing gasoline on the fire if cancer was the fire. 20% animal protein in the diet caused drastically increased cancer growth whereas 5% animal protein in the diet was VERY low in cancer rate/growth.

It's totally worth watching if only so you can understand how meat ties into your overall health.

Fish is great for you, and they completely skipped over it.

Today I reassembled my new Kilo TT Pro after applying frame saver. Not sure if it was really necessary, but its cheap insurance.

By that logic, might as well do ecstasy every day.

Knowing that something is bad for you and continuing to do it isn't justified by saying other things are also bad for you. My friend makes that argument with smoking and it drives me nuts. "We inhale all kinds of bad stuff when sitting in traffic, so what's wrong with smoking?"

Especially when studies and statistics can arbitrarily be applied to either "argument"
