Just gave myself a haircut with the clippers. Looks really meh now. I also used chain lube on the hinge point of my edc knife. So smooth now.
Hah, I rebuilt my EDC a couple weeks ago and use Chain L on the pivot points. Worked better than gun oil.
My victorinox cadet has been kicking major ass in my edc since i got it, the can opener is so good, who even knew there were good or bad can openers
eating some chicken noodle soup now that i opened with it

Also has something to do with the fact that CRKT offers free rebuild kits for life.

I've been thinking about buying something nicer for that exact reason. But so much monies.
They can be had for super cheap. I got my first one for like 35 bucks.
edit:
How bout that? Amazon prime for $25.
I did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, did dishes, and am now making fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and buttermilk biscuits for dinner to surprise the wife when she gets home.
This is me:

I went in for an interview at a restaurant. Seems to have gone well. I hope it did. $9/h + pooled tips + fed while on shift. never worked at a restaurant doe
training day at work. roller ride after. beef enchiladas and refried beans for dinner, with a Dead Guy ale. waiting for new Big Bang Theory.
one of my favorite sci-fi/horror movies is "The Thing" (1982), so today i sewed an Outpost #31 patch onto my snorkel hooded parka. just in time for the predicted snowpocalypse tomorrow.

This is what I carry. Got the last one for free in fact. Lost mine on BART (I think) and went back to the Big5 where I had originally purchased it, and the salesman and I had got to talking, I guess he liked me, so he just made me pay sales tax on a new one. It was the last one they had and also the display model, so it didn't come with a box? lol.

This is mine https://www.crkt.com/K455TXP , I did not pay retail, I found it in a dressing room. It is incredibly sharp and awesome, I will keep it for the rest of my life.
I have a benchmade balisong. The quality is insane. I just wouldn't spend more than 50 bucks on your EDC cause they get lost. And found by FakeFuji.
current pocket rotation is either Boker Wharcom or Benchmade Mini -Griptilian.
Knife-wielders:
How useful do you find carrying a knife? Anecdotes? I tried carrying a cheap pocket knife a couple times and wasn't into it. I hate having too many things in my pockets, and hardly used it. I use my keys to open boxes at work. I know there are times when it is a lifesaver but I have yet to experience a time when I needed a blade and wasn't able to find/make a suitable one. I have always assumed carrying an expensive knife was some sort of prop for dudes that like to pretend they're super handy and outdoorsy.

If you were in a car that went off a bridge and had to cut your seatbelt, would you use a key?
I mainly use mine to cut things, like one time my shoe lace somehow tied itself around my pedal spindle, and I couldn't move my foot to untangle it, so instead of taking my shoe off in the rain I cut it and went on my way.
The most useful time for me is cutting zipties which I have to do frequently.
Edit: If the knife I carried wasnt so thin, light, and cool, I would probably not always have it in my pocket, but i barely notice its there.

True about the seatbelt. I carry an emergency tool in my car for cutting seatbelts and breaking windows. My ex's mom gave it to me a couple years ago.
Smell like a pro.

Today I took my first tumble on a fixed gear. Luckily it was in my driveway and it was dark so nobody saw it. Stupid gravel.

It's not that it's useful on a regular basis, it's that it gives you the ability to interact with your world in a different way. Sometimes I use it everyday, sometimes I don't use it for a few weeks but it's always nice to have. Helps with self-sufficiency, keeps you prepped for adventure and is just a fun hobby that appeals to my love of gadgets and stuff.
You don't have to pretend to be handy if you carry a knife, you automatically are, moreso than someone without one. Same goes with a flashlight.
FWIW; Multi-Tool > Swiss Army Knife > Regular Pocket Knife
