Classic-looking low-profile wheelset?

Can anybody recommend a wheelset that is really low profile? I've been riding wheels with deep V profiles and now I'm looking to switch them out for something much more low-profile, classic (no color or graphics, just stainless steel). Basically with much less presence overall. I admit this is very much an issue of aesthetics.

BTW, I'll be using 700x23c clinchers. I'll need a flip flop hub and I'm looking to spend preferably less than $150 ($200 max) for a front and rear set.

I've been looking at basic Sun and Mavic wheelsets, but was wondering if there was anything else I should checkout before buying.

Thanks in advance.

Sun M13s get my vote. Aesthetics aside, mine are bombproof.

+1. The silver m13ii's are really nice looking, extremely shiny, and the price is right. I own a pair of the black ones and they are good for the money.

FWIW, I had some silver Mavic Open Pros laced with DT Comp double butted spokes and they rode and accellerated loads better than the m13's. The Open Pros are a really nice low profile rim and the silver looks nice. They are much lighter than the m13's as well. Alas, my rear just got stolen, so Im back on the m13s tho.

Thanks guys.
I was definitely eyeing the sun M13s. Aesthetics and bombproofness aside, how can you argue with that price?

Does the m13 set have a flip flop hub or just a fixed hub?

BTW, will the M13's take 23mm-wide tires or will I need to go with the wider CR18s?

M13 should be FINE for 23MM, unless you were riding on a track, I wouldn't suggest smaller.

Velomine (scrod's link) says they're out of stock. I'm looking at these on eBay. price is about $20 higher than velomine, but it's free shipping. good deal?
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

If there is a cheaper and more reliable online store for the M13s with a similar setup as velomine can somebody PM me? Thanks.

Why not? I did not have a problem with him. Prompt shipping, and I received what was described.

For real. I've bought both of my fixed wheelsets from him. On my open pros, I called him to ask if he could lace them with nice spokes and to a fix/fix hub, neither of which were options on the website. He was really nice and totally changed the website for a few minutes so I could place my order.

Although it's probably too late to throw another wheel into the mix - Velo Orange has some very nice lightweight box-section rims, and they're available in a polished finish, if you want to go really (1970s) old skool.
