Should I throw wound up fork on a frame with a oversized headtube?

Is there any photos of such a bike for further reinforcement of this?

I did a quick search and couldn't find a bike with an oversized head tube. But here's an example of a head tube that's visibly thicker than the width of the blades of the fork.. I just think a Wound Up looks silly unless the frame has a slender head tube.

If I told you if I've completely lost it and I'm going to put this on my vigorelli?

Come on, it doesn't look that bad....

I'm just doing it as a temporary placeholder so I can ride it with a front brake. It's going on my paddywagon afterward or possibly FOREVER. And I end up selling that columbus fork with that awesome rake.

Been debating on having a rear wheel laced up with a Sturmey Archer Kickback freehub instead of riding Fixxed.....

It may not be "half bad" but the remaining half is far from good.

Should I go with 38 or 40cm bars? i'm about 5'10 1/2 and my shoulder length is like 39cm.

Go with 40; that way you'll have some extra leeway. And 38 is smaller than your shoulder length...

40cm it is I guess. It's the FSA Omega compact drops if that makes any difference.

I've said it before but so what: compact drops rule. And yes, 40cm should be fine. As Leuky said you would rather have slightly wider bars then too small ones.

should I realize my dream and buy one of those celeste 725 leader frames for $250 or less, or should i stop torturing myself and just be happy with my mercier. i love my mercier, but that leader frame is so darn beautiful and I have more than $1000 in my bank account for the first time in years (recent college graduate) and its burning a hole in my pocket.

Skip the 725 and go straight for the Super Pista or Mash. Forget wife and kids, you don't need that junk. Drop out of life \m/

Save a few more pennies and get Wing Pros. The flat tops are MUCH more comfortable.

Damn, too late. I saw them after I ordered. Should I try calling universal cycles tomorrow to see if they can change my order?

If you think you'll be more comfortable on the flat tops and don't mind paying the extra, give it a shot. It being a weekend and all, your order most likely won't be processed until Monday at the earliest.

The Wing Pros are nicer too because they don't have cable grooves.
