I would not.

Point4ska 05-05-13 12:55 PM

So I just sold my Masi Speciale for $450. Should I buy a Specialized Allez Road bike for $500 now that my conversion fell apart and I only have 1 bike? I'd be broke until my next paycheck, but I think this would be better suited for the Ride for Heart in June.

Used but not heavily.

Completely depends on the year and groupset. If it's 2009+ with at least a Tiagra and or a little older with 105s or above, sure, assuming they're in good condition.

Tiagra, also comes with a Cat Eye Cadence monitor.

calv 05-05-13 04:37 PM

If it's recent, go ahead and get it. Not "E5" but doubt you'd notice the difference. IIRC the only difference between E5 and A1 tubing is like.. .4 lbs.

Huffandstuff 05-07-13 11:08 PM

Should I get some H+son Archetype and Miche Primato high flange for my new wheels or is there another alternative out there? Only thing I require is a black rim and black hub.

Looking to be around the 300-350 mark minus wheelbuilding.

Or spend that money and do Reach the Beach on the 18th instead?

GENESTARWIND 05-08-13 01:01 AM

Novatecs and archetype or tb14

Lukester78 05-08-13 03:20 AM

not really a should I, but does anyone know of a bar tape that matches brooks leather in brown? and does anyone have an opinion on matching non leather tape with a leather saddle?

Edit: SHOULD i put a pair of these (probably make my own instead of buy) on bullhorns to match my brooks?

I've heard of people matching the bar tape and seat, then finding out that the bar tape stains with sweat and dirt, and no longer matchy matchs the seat. Something to think about before dropping a dime on brooks tape.

Mumonkan 05-08-13 08:27 AM

from what ive heard even the brooks tape doesnt always match the saddle of the "same" color

ass sweat is gonna change the color of the saddle too

There a reason you are going with novatecs over the miche? I see they only have one choice of drillings.

Brooks bartape is absolute crap.

Never again.

Got an 80s Cannondale Criterium frame today for $40 in almost perfect condition. Should I build it up with older Ultegra derailleurs, 7400 I think and Dura Ace 7400 cranks, or a complete Shimano 600 group minus the brifters? Leaning towards the 600 group cuz matchy matchy

Go with the 600.

Ebay the brifters.

So I'm going to be selling a spare set of road wheels soon, and I should have around $220 spending money.
Should I:
Get a Garmin Edge 200

or

Save up for a 500

or

Get a sweet kit?

Do you have another computer? If yes, buy the kit. If no, buy the kit.

Muffin Man 05-09-13 08:19 PM

I have a Cateye wireless computer now, but I would get the garmin to record rides. My phone battery isn't cut out for that kind of stuff.
