Is that really not a good enough reason?

Not how it is set up currently. Now the saddle is further back and I'm using the drops.

Why the hell is your saddle so low???

spRICE 03-30-13 11:51 AM

27" inseam... :(

Scrodzilla 03-30-13 11:54 AM

Two more questions:

What size frame is that?

Can you touch the ground while seated?

spRICE 03-30-13 11:58 AM

It is a 47cm. My leg is almost straight at the bottom of pedal rotation. And no, I can't touch the ground while seated. I have seriously short legs. In normal school chairs, I can swing my legs without touching the floor.

But seriously, if you want more drop, just get drop bars.

+1 - get some drop bars. Pursuit bars if you don't want to get that low. You've got risers on for god's sake; your stem aint level with your seat. Don't do 650 unless you want to look stupid (there's a good reason).

Scrodzilla 03-30-13 02:22 PM

Ahem.

^ Oh good, he listened right away. A few days before the suggestions even; what a retroactive sorta dude. Ok, maybe now would be a good time to consider a threaded stem with a significant drop. Anything but the 650c. Why such focus on being so aggro, though? You'll get tired of it after a few weeks of riding. Don't do it just for the hipster aesthetics.

seau grateau 03-30-13 02:36 PM

Sorry, me no read good. Get a drop stem.

TheRealFaux 03-30-13 02:55 PM

Drop stems are lame, except if they're Jaguars or Cinelli Pista quills.

seau grateau 03-30-13 02:59 PM

There is no good solution here. Lesser of two weevils.

spRICE 03-30-13 03:57 PM

Maybe I should just ride my bike instead of worrying about it so much :crash:

seau grateau 03-30-13 05:02 PM

Crazy talk

newsballs 03-30-13 07:12 PM

How should I make this steerer/stem/bars situation sexier?

Open to all suggestions. I like a classic look.

Cut steerer tube, find black stem, black bar tape.

Reeses 03-30-13 08:08 PM

You like a classic look? Convert to threaded headset/quill stem.

how would one do that? I've seen threadless stems that try to look like quill but they're meh.

seau grateau 03-30-13 08:46 PM

Buy a threaded fork and headset and quill stem, and install them.

Nah. The fork is the best thing on that bike.

Training.Wheels 03-30-13 09:26 PM

Then just cut the steerer, get a black stem, and replace those ugly bars and bartape.

GENESTARWIND 03-30-13 09:31 PM
