Should I throw some track grips on some compact drops (Civia Emerson)?

Should I buy an AEST V brake lever? Heard any good or bad thing about them?

No, but don't let me stop you.

Do you only ride in the drops?

Soo__Fuego 10-21-13 10:22 AM

No ...... full bar tape it is.

Should I throw my S500 hoods/levers on my De Bernardi, or keep up with the rest of the 105 group on there and swap over the 105 levers? Leaning towards keeping it Shimano.

bro 10-24-13 11:24 PM

vittoria zaffiros or panaracer paselas?

Which 105 series?
Levers/ hoods are not built equal.

bro 10-24-13 11:51 PM

ive had the paselas but only in 32c tourguard version and ive never had zaffiros... hows the longevity compare between the two? not many choices for my current 27" wheelset. i do think that i might still end up liking the paselas better. gonna try the non-tourguard 25c version.

i built my first bike from scratch in the spring and ive been riding for transportation since i sold my car a couple years ago, so this stuffs pretty new too me. used to ride vintage townies and ****ty ten speeds, then i built a breaking away "little 500" style bike, then i built my first fixed gear conversion from the frame up, and now i want to build a track bike and take it down to bloomer park and go in circles.

Huffandstuff 10-25-13 12:34 AM

I ride Zaffiro's on the front on both my bikes and I've never had any issues with them, one of them is around a year and a half old and I've dug out so much glass from the tire over that time. Never rode the Pasela's though everyone on here seems to be in love with them.

1051. They're comfy and you guys didn't tell me what choices to make with my life so I had to make em on my own. Went with the 105 over S500's. would have looked out of place methinks.

Should I get a Bell Gage or a Giro Aeon for my next helmet? I get a hefty discount on both through the school racing team.

SpeshulEd 10-26-13 06:07 PM

I like my Aeon a lot but have no experience with the Bell Gage.

websterrr 10-27-13 09:27 AM

I'll second that, my Aeon is solid

Do you have the opportunity to try both on for maybe a day and see how you like them?

Talk me out of throwing studded tires on my ftp and using it during the winter. N+1 won't suffice by itself because I'm cheap.

Well, I say do it. Will they even fit on your FTP?

If you decide on goin with knobbies instead campus is probably getting rid of them for cheap soon because cx season is done.

If you want to replace it 3 times this winter, don't shellac it.

No offense but you're an idiot.

Well it seems on the surface like a dumb idea but I'm not smart enough to figure out why so help me out.

The leader fork I have has a crazy atc so there isn't any problem there. The dropout is pretty long and there is lots of space between the chain stays at the bottom bracket but I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to get anything that big under the brace on the seat stays. I think cc700 was running 28s at some point but I don't know if 32s would fit.

At this point I think I'm basically going to keep doing what I always do and just try to avoid the ice only go when the roads are nice and plowed.

Would it be worth it to get an el cheapo craigslist mtb for the snow days?

Should I buy a "women's specific design" road bike because it's super cheap? Shimano 105 for $625 with shipping.

Oh, and I have a penis.

I would leave it for the ladies.

Whether you have a penis or not doesn't matter, but do you have proportionately longer legs and shorter torso for your height than the average man? In other words are your body proportions more like a woman than a man? Actually, you should look at the geometry charts, some makes don't do much more than change the graphics to make a WSD.

Shrink it and pink it.

YoEdgar 11-12-13 02:52 AM

Should I go with a Look 464 alp or All City thunderdome? Kind of looking at the cinelli vigorelli in grey and pink to.
Look is a local sale and I am getting it for a couple hundred under retail it was built up but not used and the other 2 frames would be new. Bens cycle has a new site up and a great discount code set up.

Its replacing my bolt and just like the bolt its gonna be a street build that I use to ride around LA and on group rides. No commuting on it. Maybe track in the future but probably not until next year.

seau grateau 11-12-13 03:52 AM

Seems like the pertinent question is why are you switching out the Bolt/what do you want different in the new frame?

GENESTARWIND 11-12-13 04:56 AM

miche primato advanced/miche bb?
