Usually in the "should i" thread, you give us some options. We don't just blurt out random junk.

That being said.. you should get some wheels and a chain probably.

You should buy wheels, tires, a chain, a cog, a lockring, pedals and bar tape.

And this:

Buy another steel bike or get aluminum?

I have a crmo geared Surly Cross check as my main commuting workhorse bike. I have a cheap hi ten fixie that I want to replace/upgrade. I have been thinking about getting a Kilo or something similar with a better light weight crmo frame but recently I have been thinking about getting aluminum to mix it up such as SST from BD or maybe build up a Leader or something similar. This would be more for fun rides and training rides with some of my road/tri buddies for a work out. Probably will never see the track regularly.

Well, if you don't yet have any aluminum frames then this is the time to get one. Just make sure to get a carbon fork for it.

seau grateau 06-30-13 03:37 PM

Nah, get at least two carbons for it.

Would ride. :)

If you like the fixed bikes you have built right now at the moment, I wouldn't sell them so quickly as if worse comes to worse you might not like new built roadie as much and wished you haven't sold said bikes.

YoEdgar 07-01-13 06:41 PM

should I buy a front zipp 440 for $80? in good condition has a good tire still.

spungyplunger 07-04-13 12:52 AM

this will be my first bike, that being said..

should I build one or buy one complete? Budget is ~1000, was thinking of putting together a leader 725, used bianchi super pista, or used cinelli mash. Or i can just buy a kilo tt or an eighthinch scrambler complete

Huffandstuff 07-04-13 01:06 AM

For a grand you can pretty much get a 725 complete pre built, I think they are like 1100 or so but you could also get a kilo tt and thej spend five hundo on beer and ducttape for sweet skids.

spungyplunger 07-04-13 01:08 AM

yeah they have the 721 complete on citygrounds for 700 which is pretty tempting.. I'm just not a fan of the all black look LOL YES IM BEING SUPERFICIAL

seau grateau 07-04-13 01:10 AM

Well, if lyou do plan to build up your bike fromscratch, you should find a price and then times it by 1.5 because thats whats gonna happen.

Spoonrobot 07-04-13 12:42 PM

Should I:

Mountain bike or Cyclocross bike for fall/winter?

There's more CX races but I already have 3 drop bar bikes and it seems like an MTB would be something different. Especially on the race courses we have around here.

seau grateau 07-04-13 12:45 PM

Monstercross bike.

Spoonrobot 07-04-13 12:48 PM

lol, yes.
