It's good to have more than one set of bars on hand.

Also you can add bar ends for more hand pozish. It is my chillin/bad weather bar set-up of choice.

Yeah, I'm down to just my drops at the moment.

What's your guys opinion on paul cranks? And if paul cranks were at the right price used; would you jump on them?

hamish5178 10-26-11 09:45 PM

Only if you buy these to go on your valve-stems as well:

Darn, they don't come in presta.

I would buy them if the price was low enough to make a nice profit on flipping them.

When I got my bike back after it was stolen, the thief put one of these on. Kept it for a good luck charm until I switched to prestas.

Should I build a winter commuter or should I start building a dedicated track bike?

redpear 11-07-11 01:46 AM

How close do you live to a track?

seau grateau 11-07-11 01:48 AM

You could rock Presta adapters and keep them.

markaitch 11-07-11 02:31 PM

should i do it?

xavier853 11-07-11 02:44 PM

Do what you want, but if you post it here, everyone will say you wrapped them wrong

Hah, I have one of those for a hood ornament on my *****in' 1990 Buick Century.

rafarquhar 11-07-11 03:33 PM

Long time lurker, furst time poster..

Kilo TT (stripper) or Motobecane Track?

hamfoh 11-07-11 03:50 PM

those are two very different bikes.

EpicSchwinn 11-07-11 05:47 PM

Well, I'm in a predicament now. Seeing as the Soma Rush frame I ordered was out of stock in the khaki green color I wanted, I'm forced to reconsider what I'm going to get if anything.

You can only get the Khaki Green from Somafab now and it costs $389.99
A white one can be had from Tree Fort Bikes for $337.95

I just don't consider myself much of a white frame kind of guy. The lame part is the shop with the out of stock green rush had it listed at $255.41. No wonder they're all sold out. Should I donate plasma and sell my kidney to make up for the extra $135 the green would cost, pay the extra $83 for the white one that doesn't excite me as much, or do something else. If anyone knows a place that has the green in 57cm for less than 390, lemme kno!

homebrewk 11-07-11 05:52 PM

If you don't like the white one (datsracist.gif) then just wait until the green one comes back in stock. If you are going to drop 3 over benjamins on a frame then get what you want.

EpicSchwinn 11-07-11 05:57 PM

Soma commissions 200-300 of each model of frame manufactured per year (http://www.somafab.com/faqs). With two colors and 7 sizes each that means there are probably less than 20 green 57cm rushes in the world. I'm assuming what they have left in their warehouse is what's left.

homebrewk 11-07-11 06:04 PM

Wow.

I'm not sure what you should do now.
