no... they are too flimsy looking. But I could hook you up with a home made wooden rack that would look the shi-shi on your bike.....only if you want tho

yummygooey 01-04-12 06:15 PM

Really? They seem to get decent reviews for sturdiness on Amazon (updated OP with link to the basket I'm looking at).

striknein 01-04-12 06:23 PM

I like mine. You definitely need to upgrade the hardware though. I also had to cut and drill the struts in order to get the basket level, but you might not have that problem due to having a longer head tube.

Wald #133 I like the detachable ones. They don't really stay on unless they're loaded, but you can buy a bag of cheap zip ties and you can just cut it off whenever you don't want it.

Should I just get a street session in instead of a road ride tomorrow?

My wife has one on her old cruiser. It rattles like CRAZY.

I've had several front wheels with 20 spokes for city riding and enjoyed them without many problems. Maybe I broke a spoke or two, but only after lots of use. That said, the only wheels I've ever totally destroyed were both 20h fronts, both in endover crashes. They look cool, but yeah, don't crash.

cruisers aren't very stealth anyway!
yeah, I would always take it off if there wasn't something holding it down, big fan of that option. Some bending/love helps a little.

I've always wondered, so now's a good time to ask. What do you do in a street session?

Depends on the weather. Road ride sounds fun to me.

Umm, no. I'd rather get a root canal than go to starbucks.

Street Session: Stair Gaps, ledge drops, etc.

Those are Italian Miche hubs. They're supposedly decent, better than Formula but not as good as DA or Phil.

Stezzy 01-04-12 09:44 PM

thanks scrod and tejanotrackie for the quick and informative responses. i emailed the guy asking for 200 lets see what happens.

yummygooey 01-04-12 09:52 PM

Should I purchase my first road bike since my sister is coming from London and bikes there cost 50% the price of here...I'm considering since it's a good deal but is also a lot of money and I have too many bikes (like that exists)

I'm thinking a Canyon AL with Athena Grupo or a Cannondale Caad10 105.
