Just to chime in with some roadie knowledge, from the photo you posted of it on the "what I just bought" thread, it appears to be a shimano stella azzura maris rear. They came around in 2004/2005 if memory serves right.

I'm thinking silver double butted spokes. My Novatec set already has black spokes so I'm thinking I'll switch it up. These are going on the TET.

My vote is for silver spokes and black nipples. Radial front & 3x DS/radial NDS rear.

Just blew my mind with that lacing pattern.

So I would need 32 + 16 = 48 spokes of one length for all the radials and then 16 of the longer length for that 3x (assuming the flange diameters are the same for both F/R hubs).

I should also mention that this'll be my first wheel build...

Manhattan Portage straps look like Timbuk2's. I have a Timbuk2 and really don't like it. I'm looking at bags that have the wrap-around style with a pad.

Just got my Rummy in the mail today. Loving it so far and it is gorgeous. If you're using it for a 15in laptop though it is a tight squeeze in the "designated" pocket.

I'd be using it for school, so it needs to hold books. Does it have a main pocket? Very hard to tell from the pictures.

The main pocket it also the primary bucket style pocket. The laptop/organizer pocket has 1 outer zipper, then a few internal areas. Then you have the two front flaps. If you search for mikes bikes on youtube he has a good video review of it that shows most are the areas. Also the shed video that mission put out shows most of it as well. There's no difference other than size between the three models.

Not necessarily. The flange diameters will be the same but the flange-to-center measurement will be greater in the front than the rear. You can usually get away with using the same length spokes for both if your spoke calculator shows a mm or two difference (always go with the shorter of the two if you do this).

I'll see what I can figure out with the spoke lengths. I've been using this calculator: http://lenni.info/edd/ , which has been giving me pretty much the same numbers as Spocalc.

That calculator says I would need 265.4mm spokes for the rear radial portion and 265mm spokes for the front.

A tiny bit of weight savings and (some say) increased lateral stiffness. If you're not a heavy guy, you could most likely even get away with 2X on the DS rear and shave off a couple more grams. Angie just built a 28h 2X/radial rear wheel and it's sturdy.

Be sure to check a few different spoke calculators because I sometimes find slight variances from one to another. This one hasn't let me down yet:
