Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: everywhere

Do you think you can deal with 300 days of wet pavement per year?

I think it would be fun. Just spend some time there before you make your decision.

it actually doesn't rain much in seattle.. much much more in portland for sure.. but, seattle gets the most cloudy days per year than anywhere "large" city in the US. HOPE YOU LIKE THE DARK

Was nice when I was there. Rain in the morning, sunshine in the afternoon.

The PNW has some of the most beautiful summers you'll ever see. Sure they only last a month but it's still really nice.

Bikes: everywhere

Interesting clear days per year stats here: https://www.wrcc.dri.edu/htmlfiles/westcomp.clr.html

Seattle : 71
Portland : 68
Spokane : 88 - dang I thought it was sunnier than that out there.
Los Angeles : 186

Seattle vs. Portland rainfall is about a tie. 35.5" SEA, 35.7" PDX.

Seattle is much less likely to experience oppressive heat in the summer than Portland.

Just took the stickers off. For the record I shed 2.7 grams of rotational weight. That's like... a pound and a half of static weight, right?

Should I get silver omniums for my khaki green rush? I feel this stigma that people say the omnium crankset doesn't look too nice on thin tubed frames.

I saw a black leader compliment them with a seafoam fork (sure it's not celeste but close) and the subtle matching looks great.
