I am not opposed to having them tap it out... but if I do any edits to the frame, I'd also want to add disc tabs, and re-space the rear to 135, and... Then I'd have to repaint the frame... And as much as I really like this frame, I don't think it's worth THAT much work.
@striknein: I'd totally rock ANOTHER bag (already hunting for a front pannier rack and then the bags to follow) but I don't NEED another bag. That being said, I have cross levers, so having any bags would negate the use of them. @tejano: Do the bottles sway at all, or is there enough ability to get the velcro tight enough to secure them? |

Or if you have a really reliable shop in your area and are willing to pay the $$$, they can put in bottle cage mounts on the down tube.
The Two Fish bottle mounts that TT suggested are awesome. I used them quite a few times on my Leader 725. |
It seems as though the Kagero is still on sale. With a deep v wheel set the cost is just over $830 shipped, but I don't know how much it will cost to drill the fork for a brake. Should I bite, or grab the Vigorelli that is already drilled for a brake, but will miss out on the wheel set?
|
as tempting as combo deals and saving a $ here and there is -- I would get whatever frame you want more and not let the wheelset factor into your decision. we're talking $550-$600 framesets here.

Really? On your site plus many others, it specifically states it's not drilled for a brake...
|
looks like you can see the plug job if you gander at the fork up front. compare it to the s works which is actually not drilled
drilled but plugged? http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lt...1ytho1_500.png not drilled http://i43.tinypic.com/11qu8er.png |

Should I:
1) Buy this and this OR 2) Buy this OR 3) Work with a local bag designer to come up with something custom, built specifically for my wants and needs. Cheaper bags almost never talk up how they clamp to the bars, which indicates to me that they suck. I don't want to spend 250-300 bucks on something like a Giles Berthoud, even tho I'm sure they're the bomb and probably worth the money. Also, I was hoping for something waterproof, but I can't seem to find that without going to something like an Ortlieb. I'm so torn. |
Should I use the M900 crankset I already have on the bike, or a Truvativ Stylo crankset?
|
hey guys,
was just about to pull the trigger and order some rims and track hubs to put together a wheelset.. wondering, are there cons to buying a road wheelset with shimano/campy cassette hubs and using the track conversion kits? other than price. **oh wait.. forgot that most road hubs are 130mm... |

I saw this on the leader page, has anyone ever used this? Do you guys think it even works? |
it can't work that well. might work for the occassional puddle if you don't mind a few drops compared to a few dozen drops.
|
Just buy a full fender. It's like $30 a set, and if you don't want a front you don't have to put it on.

Should i buy my friends hpluson wheelset front radial laced to phil, rear to formulas for 225 or save up for new frame (riding conversion for some time, currently riding a rear deep v to formula)? argg
|
new frame, your wheelset is good enough and the frame will be a huge improvement. not so much with the hplusson/formula/phil.
|
That said,
Should I keep saving and get my dream frame even though I'll be moving my relatively inexpensive components to it? or Buy a cheaper frame and upgrade current components. I don't feel like I want anything in particular right now... A big factor is that my current frame is too small for me. |
the frame you want is always better than the frame you settle for. you only live once, get what you want and don't settle.
|
Should I get a black or silver wheelset? Looking at Sun M13s. Or should I get something similar to what is pictured? In the pic below, the rear hub is shot and the front wheel is not mine.
Dis is ma biek http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7009/6...4d1b9f34_z.jpg |
Silver M13's, they be pretty
|
M13s or Open Pros would look nice, imo.
Should I paint my fork black? http://www.pedalroom.com/p/tet-track-1869_13.jpg |
No. Replace it instead.
|
get a khs fork!
|
What KHS fork?!
|
the one that usually comes with the kilo. it's sold a lot of places as an unbranded track fork.
|
But the TET is 1-1/8"! Does anyone make a similar fork in 1-1/8"? I don't want to pay for a Devolution headset cuz that's dumb.
