I agree with ddeadserios. Currently, your bike looks classy (minus the jackass brake setup & unwrapped track drops)
get some classic drop road bars & wrap them, get some foot retention and ditch the seatpost brake It makes no sense running track drops and a track fork since this bike will never be a track bike. |
This was gonna be a fixed gear but I ordered a wheel with the wrong hub which only takes the free wheel and I didnt wanna deal with the whole shipping process. I didn't really want cables all over but I guess that's what ill have to do until I come across a cheap fixed gear 27'' wheel again...
I wanted a track fork for less rake. Ill get some brown wraps today and see what that looks like. Ill post updates when I get a chance Thanks for input |
should i buy a 58cm langster frameset for $250 or just shut up and stick with my steel fuji track?

Sugino 75s 170mm with BB for $135, good price?
So much creaking coming from my BB/cranks/pedal that I am considering just changing out the whole lot. The BB and cranks have been pulled and everything cleaned and still creaking like a mofo. I am wondering if swapping everything out will eliminate this noise. Should I buy new BB and crankset, pull BB and cranks again, or??? |

It was a joke. That is an amazing price. Those look brand new. Get off bike forums. Go buy them.

Lol, OK
But is it reasonable to change out the BB and cranks because i can't get rid of creaking? Not like the 600s are bad cranks.... |

If you have the money, you should have already been off bf and have the 75's in hand, and not asking these questions, but instead saying "hey guys thanks, i love my ****** ass cranks which are way better than 95% of everything ever" ok?

Question Time: Ok, so I ordered a complete Dolan Pre Cursa 60, it should arrive first week of July. I just ordered a Leader 722ts 61 frame.
1. Do I use the Dolan wheels on the Leader and buy different wheels for the Dolan or do I keep the wheels on the Dolan and buy some cheaper wheels for the Leader (thinking Velocity Deep V's). 2. I will be using the Dolan as a fitness ride when I do distances of 30+ miles. Do I put the drop bars that come with the dolan on the Leader & buy road drops? (I believe Scrod said track drops suck for distance, so I already know the answer, but just looking for additional input) 3. Do I put the seat post from the dolan on the Leader & buy a carbon seat post or will that not be worth the $? these are the wheels that come with the Dolan - http://www.dolan-bikes.com/Dolan-Com...product_id=516 Here is the dolan itself: http://www.velodromeshop.net/index.php?p=product&id=18 Thanks, Justin *I am going to be selling my Windsor The Hour so I will only have 1 steel, and 1 aluminum |

Carbon seatpost isn't worth it. The stock post on the dolan is nice. The stock wheels on the other hand, definitely have room to be upgraded.

Thanks. I was looking at the Wabi rims as recommended to me in another thread. I would like to keep the price under $350 for a pair (built as I have no experience building wheels) while keeping the weight down, anything in black or silver (or combo).
They would be like 1600 grams without rubber. |

If you get all silver. KinLin XR-270's laced to novatec's with 64 sapim lasers, and veloplugs, will run you like $375 shipped and built from RG.

sorry to drag this conversation on in this thread but, wouldnt that require me to build it myself or does RetroGression build wheels as well? Im trying to get the lightest possible wheelset under $350 (could do 400 if worth while) that is already built *not by me*
Thanks again for your advice, it is much appreciated. One note, you'll have to wait a couple weeks for scrod to order the novatec hubs. |

Yeah, these are built for under 400. They're closer to 300 if you wanted to build them yourself. You could shave off another 100+ grams using XR-200's, and a lower spoke count, but seeing as you bought a 61cm frame, I assume your're a pretty big guy, so I recommended 270's(little beefier), and 32 spoke front and rear.
One note, you'll have to wait a couple weeks for scrod to order the novatec hubs. I'm a big, but light guy. I am 6'4 & weigh 185 (been around that weight for 5 years so I dont plan on getting much heavier). |
Don't try the XR200's. You will break them even at 185lbs.

FWIW 32h XR300's to Novatecs with Lasers should be around 1750g.
