Still indecisive about this big buy for me right now. Should I get a Mercier kilo TT, Dawes stt al, or motobecane fantom UNO for my first Fixie that will primarily be used in NYC for recreation and fitness over the next year.
I get tons of recommendations for the kilo TT but I don't understand what makes it better. I looked at the cheaper bikes on BD but they don't include front brakes which when added brings the cost close to the $400 bikes. Going to pull the trigger on the purchase tonight.

Should I buy a breeding pair of ironmans? It's a ton of driving, but his and hers? Pretty sure I can talk Russ down below $200.

i really want the cinelli mash topo tape on about three of my bikes. but so spensive.
should i scrap the idea of a 1" threaded track bike if i can't get my friend's chrome pista?
i'm leaning toward yes and just saving for a militis3.

Lessons? Pfft. Already have the tools, just gotta get the tubes. Been restoring a desoto and making artsy grazed/welded stuff for renn faires all summer. The frame's happening too.
