Nagrom^ why not just try to sell the frameset and wheelset only?

Still considering spoke count. 24/28, 28/32, or 32/32. can't decide. I'll probably just go 32/32.

Delicious.
How much do you weigh? What pattern?

x2. I feel like it's easier to part out bikes than to sell expensive, high-end bikes complete. YMMV tho.

Two reasons. One, it's a lot harder to sell a frame and wheelset than it is to sell a complete bike. Two, the last ride I put on it I did some climbing, and realized I chose some pretty bad gearing. Standard crank and 11-23 aren't very fun to do any kind of real climbing on. Going with compact and 12-28 this time around.

yeah. i did a big 10k feet / 78 mile ride this summer on 53/39 cranks with 11-23 cassette.
alot of the hills were over 15% and by the end i was just angry.

had to stand out of the saddle for every climb

ordered a new cassette the next day

Exactly. I was riding though the Oakland/Berkeley hills, granny geared and bailout cog, still hating the world.

Awesome picture btw.

Should I buy this 2011 HED wheelset (Jet 9 rear and Jet 6) for my track bike? Price seems very nice, $900 for the set with wheelbags...

I should start my own site like PedalRoom - but only allow 25-30 people to use it.

you should start your own site and limit it to the fixed gear singlespeed section of this forum.

I pretty much already did that - but I'm not telling you where it is because you're preemptively banned.

Yes. And you should slap the current owner for being a dumbass.

Training.Wheels 11-14-12 08:04 AM

Jeezus look at that drop. Makes me uncomfortable lookin' at it.

Decided not to sell my Spicer should I get a wound up?

Whats wrong with your current fork?

Adrian_ 11-14-12 04:12 PM

I sold it.

prooftheory 11-14-12 04:15 PM

In that case you should definitely buy a fork ... unless you are really good at wheelies. Wound up's don't look good on most bikes to me.

LesterOfPuppets 11-14-12 04:21 PM

When I was in my 20s I did gnarly hilly rides with 42x21 low gear and loved it.

Adrian_ 11-14-12 04:23 PM

Seeing this GTB is what gave me the idea. I have the cash but I could buy a cheap fork and finish the build faster. So my decision is basically, buy awesome wound up and wait longer to ride it or buy cheaper fork and ride sooner.

After my experience the other day I can't imagine how that would feel when you're tired and need a bailout gear.

Aesthetically, I find that a wound up would look more pleasing than the alpina you had on there. Go for the track rake model with the inverted fork ends.

Yeah a few other people told me a fork with thinner blades would look better. Wound Up it is!

Nagrom_ 11-15-12 08:53 PM

I have about 800 bucks in liquid cash... That being said, there is a 2012 CAAD10 on ebay for $650. Should I buy it now, Leaving me pretty much broke until I can sell my current road bike, or should I wait, and risk missing out on it?

Scrodzilla 11-15-12 08:56 PM

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought that CAAD10.

Problem solved.

Training.Wheels 11-15-12 09:06 PM
