Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

And I feel those who don't know how to properly blur it are pretty boring (but that's an entirely different topic).

Looks like the OP blurred it to me.

P.s. OP, glad you're not seriously/permanently injured or worse.

I think this is the keyword here.

Knowing how to do it properly (read as safely Scrod?) is key.

Exactly. Mountain climbing, pole vaulting and water skiing are dangerous too - but there's also a responsible way of partaking in such things when you have the right understanding for what you're doing.

Why not just get a new cog, they cost about 3x less.

I get sketched out enough bombing hills brakeless, but removing my feet from my retention to me is suicide. Glad to hear you're alive, but seriously man, what the ****?

Bowling can be dangerous too, if you're drunk enough.

UPDATE: So I am home now. Only spent a day in the hospital. Im currently on Oxycodone. I've got a dr. appointment on Thursday, and hopefully that's when i'll be able to stop wearing this neck braces (these things suck). I currently feel fine. The only thing that is bothering me is all the scabs on my face. One is very close to my eyes, and kind of itches, so I have to fight the urge to scratch it. Other than that all is well. I plan on being back on the bike in 2 weeks, maybe 1.5 weeks. Im leaving for school soon, and the bike will be my main mod of transport.

Any questions guys, feel free to ask. PM or right here.

glad you're healing up, you made everything look a lot more severe by posting a photo with you still wearing a temporary neckbrace, feel better, be more careful once you're back on the bike

Alright. Well this is my head today:

I've stopped taking the Oxycodone, and im just taking the occasional tylenol. Just drinking a lot of fluids. Back is a little out of alignment, so a chiropractor visit is in check after my follow up on thursday.
