Mercier kilo TT fork upgrade
Has anyone upgraded their fork on their kilo tt? I plan on getting a carbon fiber one but i dont know what size to get and what kind. My hands been hurting for a few days due to heavy riding probably due to the fork not absorbing most of the shock. I been looking at ebay for carbon forks but im not sure which is compatitable with the kilo tt.

You need to find a carbon fork that has a 1" steer tube and that has close to the same offset of your current fork. If your hands are hurting you might be placing too much of your weight on them when you ride.

Pretty much anything that is going to fit, trying to find a 1" steer tube with a lower offset is either going to be really expensive or non exsistant. So just find something that's cheap and works.

Play with your seat angle and fore/aft position (assuming the height is correct) as well as bar angle before spending money. There is a lot of info online about this part of bike fitting. It will also be cheaper and easier to just put a wider tire on the front wheel to absorb shock than to buy a new fork
p.s. Riding drop bars without hoods for hours on the road really sucks

Also, a carbon fork isn't going to look very good unless you can find one that is meant to be used with a bike that doesn't have an integrated headset.

The stock Kilo fork is already pretty compliant...I can actually see mine flex over washboard surfaces...I'd wager you won't find a softer ride with a cheap carbon fork. It will likely be worse. For carbon to produce desirable ride characteristics, it needs to be made properly
