Big deal. Are they going to hire a team of detectives to hunt me down and force me to buy it? **** Walmart.

homebrewk 08-28-11 09:50 AM

I was just at Wal-Fart yesterday and I wished I new about it before I left.

LesterOfPuppets 08-28-11 09:52 AM

I love the "Fixie" decal best. Kinda makes me want to buy it. What are they going for?

Maybe they think that people will buy it for their kids as a "fashion piece."

nuhtowel 08-28-11 10:25 AM

I want a fixie decal on my bike

Except he didnt. And that would never happen. Any building with over 50 employees and its just mass chaos. Nobody knows whats going on. Seriously, you could put on a wal mart uniform and get access to 95% of that store with no questions asked.

Watch this film. Its a documentary crew that follows around a thief. (this is just a trailer): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEC0NmiTuSY

with the digging through trash, hours of surveilance, faked ID badges, and lots of lock/door/wall cutting power tools i'd say that documentary shows that that level of thievery is fairly complicated, a little more than putting on a walmart shirt, i don't really see the connection to this thread, unless they rob a walmart in the full length version...

All you have to do is read the comments on the video to see it's not real.

homebrewk 08-28-11 01:51 PM

I just got back from Wal-Fart. I saw the bike and rode it in the back of the store. I thought it was fixed, but it had a freewheel on it. What did everyone else see?

The one I test rode had a cog and lockring; had because I pulled a skid and completely bottomed out my right foot, I had stripped it clean off.

Cool. I should of brought my 15mm wrench with me.

Scrodzilla 08-28-11 02:05 PM

The one I rode was fixed too. It would be a little weird for the 'Thruster Fixie' to...........nevermind.

EpicSchwinn 08-28-11 08:10 PM

It was just out of reach! The one at my wally world was on the top shelf and on the freewheel side :( No price was listed. The tag in the pic was for a different bike. The tag on the thruster fixie called it a "track bike" with "fixed sprocket." The rims looked like spray painted box sections.

UberGeek 08-28-11 08:18 PM

Why pay that, when I can have a Schweet McD's Fixie for $99? :)

Clif 08-28-11 11:47 PM

No really, how much do these things cost?

vrg3 08-28-11 11:55 PM

Looks like it's about a hundred bucks: http://roburrito.imgur.com/walmart_fixie

It also looks like it's a flip-flop hub of some type.

LesterOfPuppets 08-29-11 12:05 AM

Nice! I'd be clearcoating that pricetag fo sho!

http://i.imgur.com/mlQUwh.jpg

Oooh, look like a "t" under the tag, for "thruster" possibly? Might have to pry that headbadge off and put the pricetag up there then clearcoat.

err, maybe just yank the UPC, keep that killer headbadge.

And, Oooh! KICKSTAND!

RenzSouljohnson 08-29-11 12:46 AM

damn those are some sick ass pedals dude

thelastleroy 08-29-11 04:03 AM

I can just picture the Wal-Mart execs sitting around a boardroom table some Monday morning:

"The kids, they want their 'fixies' people. we need to get us some of that 'fixie' money. And paint it McDicks colours too. kids love McDicks. Find some sweatshop to start building these things before the little bastards change their minds"

jimmytango 08-29-11 04:22 PM

I personally love the 700x38 tires and the sprocket bashgaurd. Trying to capitalize on all the dudes that do polo and buy bikes at Wal-Mart I suppose.
