I've seen this thing on campus for 2 weeks now, and today I finally saw the owner riding it. Total dudebro.

UberGeek 08-29-11 06:08 PM

Ok, so I had to: I went down to Wally World, and test rode one.

Not bad for a throwaway single-speed/fixie (Flip flop hub). Could be a little bit of fun to ride. One was setup fixie, and the other was freewheel.

I tested them both. Other than the ugly as sin paint job, it could be a fun "Throw it out after a year in college bike".

Saw this bad boy on campus today.

So sick. If it hadn't been locked up with such a sophisticated lock, I probably would've stolen it.

Well, it’s simple really.....

If it has hit the Wal-Mart shelves, it isn’t cool anymore. Time to chuck the SS/Fixies and move on.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

NOPE, try again.

This just adds a new lower tier to the hierarchy. Or in more relevant words, a new tier of owners to mock and lock down upon.

Hothead286 08-30-11 01:34 PM

I went to Walmart last night and they didn't have any. :(

I finally saw one of these IRL today. I think I actually gasped out loud when the guy rolled by, seatpost slammed just like in the photo above.

max5480 08-30-11 06:34 PM

Straight up piece of ****. If I see these on my campus I'm setting them on fire.

Why? One more person on a bike. One more person giving a fixie a try.

thebrad20 08-30-11 07:32 PM

I wasn't being serious...I mean what kind of person would burn someone else's belonging. Especially considering the people who buy these bikes more than likely don't know much about cycling and are just looking for a cheap means of transportation. It was just my way of venting.

jaded_fable 08-30-11 07:52 PM

I just wanna buy one, keep the frame, and swap out everything else for expensive components. But still keep the rim and tire colors the same.

I'm going to pretend like I didn't just read that.

Scrodzilla 08-30-11 08:39 PM

I should get one and swap out all the parts from my 725 onto that frame - just to take a picture.
