Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm finishing off the brandy i picked up yesterday and chasing it with root beer. I need to not buy more booze once it's gone. Need to stop for a while as I drink entirely to much. I was good at the store today. I got paid and went shopping. Managed to not buy more booze or soda. Slightly proud of that, lets see what I can do with it.

I dub thee 'Innocent', a single-malt, single-hop pale ale home brew. by kazbo, on Flickr

Per the caption, this is a homebrew pale ale we kegged and is now (as you can see) sufficiently carbonated. It's delicious, nice and refreshing for the summer. Vienna malt and Centennial hops. Yum.

That Innocent sounds right up my alley. I love a good balanced sessionable pale.

Me, I just biked & picked up some Big Star for the wife and I, and there are a couple of PBR's in the freezer with our names on them.
Nothing fancy, but thirst quenching and refreshing just the same.

Monk's Cafe Flemish Red. Fantastic.

Last night it was cocktails at Scofflaw, including one made with Malört. Awesomeness.

That's what got me started on craft beer. I used to wake up sometimes as early as 8am and just crack one for breakfast. That was many years ago and now I go for something with more personality but hey, you could do much worse.

Right now, I just polished off a bottle of Fixed Gear by Lakefront. Mmm mmm good.

can't wait to drink a "bourbon barrel" IPA after work today....brewed up an IPA and racked on top of oak chips soaked in whiskey in the secondary. I've got a few bottles left for drinking now, the rest is cellared away for a bit.

I do most of my beer shopping at CVS now, so the selection isn't much to write home about. It's a good day-to-day beer.
