Pretty vague.

What tires? What type of riding? What are you looking to achieve?

Seriously. I keep telling him that "you can't be The Based God." He replies with "shut up dude. I'm based and I **** everyone's *****."

Scrodzilla 03-28-12 07:37 AM

So ridiculous.

Probably Vittoria Rubbino's, mostly just commuting in the city with some longer jaunts for exercise.

Scrodzilla 03-28-12 03:46 PM

25s should be fine.

Much appreciated.

*DOUBLE DIP* Can you point me in the direction of a quill stem that would fit for my Windsor Hour? BD says my current stem is a threadless 1.125. Never messed with stems before, and it would basically be purely for aesthetics so I might end up getting priced out of swapping and say "F it"...

Scrodzilla 03-28-12 03:57 PM

You have a 1 1/8" threadless setup. No quill for you!

That's what I thought but there's a guy in the "I love my Windsor Hour" thread with a quill/drops set up that looks sexy. I quoted his post its on the like 2nd to last page. I assume he had to change up everything up front, not just the stem?

Scrodzilla 03-28-12 04:21 PM

The older ones were 1" threaded.

You can't use a 1" threaded fork/headset/quill stem in a 1 1/8" head tube.

You could always do something like this: http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...31-8-rise.html

Terrible plan, dont do it.

Scrodzilla 03-28-12 09:23 PM

Agreed.

SSbalt 03-28-12 11:15 PM

I wanted this kind of quill stem

http://www.retro-gression.com/produc...mic-quill-stem

Guess its 1'' though, so - ah well.

hairnet 03-29-12 01:15 AM

****, I bought a pretty cool stainless steel stem the co-op only to go home and findout it is 1 1/8. I had no idea this existed

six30nine 03-29-12 04:23 PM

Got any tips for getting bars straight after adjusting the stem/spacers? They always look straight when I set them up, but I usually have to stop and tweak them when I start riding and discover they're a little crooked.

Scrodzilla 03-29-12 09:07 PM

Get degree in Advanced Rocket Science. Straighten bars. Profit.

Deciding on pedals. Track pedals, and clips or clipless?

gigantor 03-29-12 09:49 PM

Building a sw8 fixay for up to 50 mile rides with climbing. Already have mavic open pros / formula hubs.

Leader 722ts or mash bolt? My heart is already set on the bolt, but your opinion is welcome.

For what type of riding?

Hard to say. Those two frames are ridiculously different from one another and it all depends on how you're planning on setting each one up.
