If you've narrowed it down to those two choices and want to do any sort of off-road riding, the CR18s are bombproof and will serve you much better. The Wabi wheels are great but I don't see them holding up to any kind of serious abuse. Heavy rims are better than broken rims.

I bet someone asked this before, but do you know the total weight of your a23 build?

I'm cheap and lazy at the moment so my black 722ts will have most of the black components off of my Kilo TT Pro. Everything will be black, except for gold nipples and a gold chain. Is that too jackass?

(I do realize I'll have to buy a black seatpost/seat/headset)

I think all black with subtle hints of gold is really cool looking. Key word: subtle.

Roughly, yes.

Irony right? Since you are pointing out an obvious internet meme reference (that sailed over your head) while spelling "thanks" wrong and leaving your "i" not capitalized. You must be new around the SSFG area. Chill out before you decide to poke at people old man.

Cool, as long as the chainstay length is shorter, or close to the Kilo's I'm good. I'd rather not have to buy a new chain.

Dear Scrod,

Do you have any ideas on how I can just "be happier?" It's a question that people throw around a lot, probably too much. I'm going through a rough patch in my life right now.

We can continue the conversation with PM's if that would be better.

Scrodzilla 12-03-11 10:56 AM

One of my dad's great one-liners was, "When the going gets tough, the smart do nothing". He always kinda chuckled when he said it but I realized years later just how much meaning can be found in those words.

Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed or down, I find myself getting out from underneath it by making time to do absolutely nothing. So much of our everyday lives are consumed by such hectic activities that even leisure times become stressful. Go for a walk or an easy bike ride. Find somewhere to sit for a while by yourself, breathe, clear your head and just be.

homebrewk 12-03-11 11:02 AM

That may be what I really need.

striknein 12-03-11 11:03 AM

Scrod,

What is it about the word "zen" that gets people so freaked out?

I don't know. I think it's because people get it set in their heads that they are "supposed" to react a certain way to certain things. Different people find zen in a lot of different things.

Dear Scrod,

Trying to find a new crankset for my 09 fuji track classic. I'm looking for a mid-range crankset, 165mm 144bcd, preferably black to match stem at seatpost. So far I've considered: andel crankset, ird defiant (polished only), s300 (130bcd), EAI cobra standard crankset (no feedback).

Is there anything else you would recommend I look at? Thanks.

mkeHENRY 12-03-11 10:14 PM

Have you ever seem a rim having a very small indentation on the outside wall? I thought it was some 'defect' but it's on my other rim at the same spot.

I do this all the time. It helps, because I'm stressed out and overwhelmed about 99% of my life.

The EAI Cobra is an Andel crankset. If you're looking for 144bcd, go with one of those.

Dearest Scrod,
I've been want to try a bushingless chain, but it's really hard to find in the specs on sites if they are bushed or not. Do you recommend bushingless? What are some good (decent) bushingless chains? Why do most places exclude this information in the specs?

Also, how do I tab in forums, or am I stuck with pressing space five times? D: *1/8" pitch by the way

edit: I guess five spaces doesn't even work!

Scrodzilla 12-04-11 01:47 PM

Typically if specs don't say anything, the chain is sans bushings.

The KMC K710SL is my favorite chain of all time.

I've been wanting to get the 710SL since I first got my POS bike :] I have just been now checking to see if it's bushingless, but can't find the info anywhere. Wait, so it is bushed? :O Probably order a sexy silver one off your site.

Scrodzilla 12-04-11 01:54 PM

sans bushings = bushingless

TejanoTrackie 12-04-11 01:57 PM

avec bushings = with bushings
