What length post do you have? The shorter ones (250mm) have logos that are closer to the top.

I have the same problem. Got the longer post for cheap on craigslist, and half of my logo is in the seat tube. :(

Do you know the recommended spoke tension for A23's?

Also, is it normal for the Lasers to wind up as I'm tightening them?

Also, I forgot to lube the nipples before putting them in the spoke holes (I lubed the threads though). Should be ok?

I'm learnin'.

That's typically where any cross lever should be mounted on drops (flat or otherwise), unless you want to lose half of the top hand position.

How did you(or Angie) finish off the bar tape without finishing/electrical tape?

It's the adhesive strip that comes with the tape. It also has the grip material as the tape itself but minus the padding.

Properly prepped spokes shouldn't wind up. Did you prep the threads?

I never (ever) lube threads. You should lube where the nipple comes in contact with the hole in the rim.

i want to replace the cheapo headset that came on my scrambler with a FSA orbit x, should i use a silver or black one?
also when i got my frame, the steer tube was either super short or already cut to pretty much the (conveniently) perfect size for the parts i used, just added 7mm of spacers..
did i get an already cut steer tube or is this normal? i feel like this picture from the eighthinch looks like theres a full 6 inches sticking out of the top when its in the headtube.

will the FSA headset stack height still work with the length of steer tube i got on there now?

I am also interested in this actually. I thought that lubing was done by dipping the spokes in the spoke prep, but I actually know very little about wheel building and would love to hear more.

Hell yeah, definitely. I wanted to be safe and get the steerer tube cut a little longer than usual. Should get recut in a few days.

If i have 2 stripped nipples on my driveside of my rear wheel on my roadie, what are my options? I am hoping to replace the nipples myself, and just taking it to the lbs to tension, true and dish the wheels. My wheel is legitamitly out of dish by an entire cm right now

Haha, jeez. We'll see how this wheel holds up. I got everything tensioned and true, but there is a slight hop that I couldn't get out. Stripped (at least) two nipples hardcore. I may have to have you send along some spare nipples and spokes when my other rim comes in.

I lubed the threads cuz that's what Sheldon said to do. What's funny is I greased the nipple/rim contact point on my IRO wheelset build, but totally forgot to do it this time. By the time I realized my mistake I had already finished lacing so I didn't want to undo everything I did.

Spoke prep or linseed oil on the spoke threads, yes. Grease or other oil, no.

I'll agree that it isn't a good commuter/bar-hopper frame. Basically the only thing I ever really look for in a frame is whether it feels fast and it does feel fast.

is that the final verdict? any input on color choice at least? since im stuck with machined sidewalls now should i embrace the silver/black theme?
