I'm bored, I have a thing for pint glasses. I have some Cane Creek's, any other brands have beer glasses?

scrod, do you drink beer? If so, what is your beer of choice?

I'll drink anything except stouts and IPAs but Miller High Life has always been my go-to.

You mean you don't? How long have you had it?

Most regular shampoo will dry out your beard, causing the hairs to break. If your beard is short this isn't too much of a problem but it it's long, it could be catastrophic.

I wash my beard with Dr. Bronner's soap and condition it every once in a while with pure coconut oil.

Mumonkan 09-30-12 01:43 PM

interesting, my friend says he conditions his all the time and i always pegged him for a loon

mine is short though so ill continue neglecting it and watch my hairs turn grey, lol

himespau 10-01-12 05:11 AM

I use a shampoo with conditioner on mine once a week or so hoping to make it a little softer (the wife likes the look but doesn't like the pokiness). Doesn't really work.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 06:34 AM

Coconut oil works wonders.

eyeomegasquared 10-01-12 06:38 AM

Scrod,

Do you know of any bars similar to the Nitto b260AA, but with a 31.8mm clamp? The risers I have now are too wide and they can't be cut down far enough. I'd rather not change the stem if I can avoid it.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 06:41 AM

What bars do you have that can't be cut down?

They're Ritchey risers, and I've already cut them down. But I can't cut them any further, else there's not enough room for everything before the bend. They're at about 570mm now. I'd like to get closer to 500mm.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 08:28 AM

Deda Streetissimo.

jimmytango 10-01-12 04:06 PM

My boss just got a Pake French 75 and Omniums. There's maybe 1mm max between the crankarms and the chainstay. Normal?

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 04:12 PM

That's pretty damn close! I built one up for a customer that had about 3mm.

jimmytango 10-01-12 05:58 PM

Hmm... Possibly installed wrong? I didn't do the labor, so I'm not certain what he did.

Nagrom_ 10-01-12 06:07 PM

scrod, aren't omniums known to have fit issues? Like, they aren't all shaped the same.

Yes. I physically measured several of them on hand at the shop after ddeadserious had problems with his and found variances in both spider thickness and Q-factor.

I'm looking for a bike for my boss, and until the 53cm kilo tt comes back in stock I'm trying to find some other options to throw her way.

Is there anything else you could recommend that would be similar price wise and geo? No big rush, for the most part I'm trying to hold her off to get the kilo.

Kilo TT's restocked homey.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 09:24 PM

What type of riding does she plan on doing? Are you sure tight track geo is what she's really looking for?

Just going to be city riding, and she liked my IRO mk5. They're of similar geo so I figured it might be worth a shot.

She's trying to find something over her current hybrid which doesn't seem to be working out well for her. She wanted to get a road bike, but seems unsure if she'll like the riding position. So hoping to forego spending a bunch of money on a well equipped road bike, I thought single was the best option.

I'm still perusing craigslist daily just in case something pops up, but as far as new options go, the kilo is obviously one of the better choices in overall quality. I'm not opposed to finding something with a bit more relaxed geo if at all possible though.

Been trying to keep an eye, haven't seen them when I looked. Was there an email sent out that I missed? I was thinking the stripper or the orange/chrome.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 09:31 PM

Are you sleeping with your boss? If so, get her a gold one.

I'm debating whether this is a reference to the name being gold digger or not haha

But no! Have my own lady that unfortunately doesn't like to ride bikes in the city, not that I can exactly blame her given how crazy traffic is. I just tend to be the go to guy for many of my friends/coworkers that ride bikes around here.

Scrodzilla 10-01-12 09:48 PM

I'm just teasing you, man.

The 53cm Kilo is more like a typical 55cm frame. Will it fit her?

I think this has been discussed before, but man this is a serious problem.

What happened to ddead could happen to anyone.

"Well, let's see, this guy uses Omniums on his frame and I have the same frame so they should work on mine..." That's what I said when I bought em for my Raleigh. Glad they clear the frame.

You think, for being one of the only high end track cranks and all, they'd get their **** together.

I mean, one set didn't even come close to fitting my Kagero, Scrod swapped them out for me, and the replacement ones were better, but not good enough and I had to file them down. Weird thing is, if you log onto Pedalroom, approximately 73% of the Kagero on it have Omniums installed. I don't get it.

For the price, I wouldn't even think about getting them again. The price to quality ratio of the S300 seems a lot better to me.
