Thanks for the verification. B43s are off my short list because of the weight. Looking on Velomine, there are some nice H+ Sons SL42 wheelsets in my <250$ budget as well as some Velocity deep Vs. I'm leaning towards the SL42s laced to a formula hub at the moment. Any reason to choose one over the other?

Is a bike frame that was left out since last summer (and through winter) salvageable? How would I be able to tell?
EDIT: Steel mountain bike frame; SuperCycle. I know it's not worth anything, but I'm on a budget and I was hoping to salvage it and rebuild it at a local coop. |

Assessing this over the internet without so much as pics, I have no idea.
EDIT: LOL, I'll snap some pictures when I do and I'll inquire again when I do that. Thanks :) |
Any steel frame - unless it was treated with something like Frame Saver when it was new - will have some degree of rust inside.

I have future questions on my build, I plan on getting the SRAM S300 from your site scrod, and it said that it was a 3/32inch chainring, and my current cog is 1/8th I believe, I'll have it checked out when I get a chance, I was wondering if I could use a 1/8th inch chain and be fine? Another question on that is will the MKS GR-9 work on the crank arms? are they the same thread size?
AND this is probably stupid but I have a spare rear brake caliper from my kilo and was wondering if it could work as a front caliper? they look the same, but I thought id get some clarification first rather than put it on and have it fail on me when i need it most. I'll probably have more questions later on but, I'm still debating on parts to buy for my leader 725 |

Are there mods for mods in this forum?
Look for the blue star. Single blue star = moderator. Triple blue star = site administrator aka mod of mods of mods. /obligatory not scrod |

So I have this bike. Would buying a Surly Conversion kit be the best and cheapest way to convert it over to SS? If I hunt down deals I think I can get it under $150, is there an alternative? |

Both are great rims. The Deep Vs are a little lighter but it really just depends on which you think look better.
I was checking out the site again and saw no aerospoke's on there, do you have anyone or a site you want to refer? i keep finding them around $200+ in my area,on c.list just thought to ask you about it... i found a set for $400 but they are not machined, and i donno ...if i wanna pay 400$ i was just looking for a rear one to start with. |
Dude, is it annoying sending out invoices for some orders? Do you get a lot? If it's annoying, I'm sorry man.. Almost every order from me you've had to give me a paypal invoice lol.

Another question, for the leader 725, which Carbon fork is better? the leader one on your site? or the alpina f04?
|
Either one is fine. Pick the one you like better.

Is an aluminum fork any good? I'd like to be able to build up my bike soon, but a carbon fork seems a little expensive during my build up. And which one would you recommend? I know that for leader 725 I should have about 30mm rake. |

Do you know what kind of screw I need for this? And where I can find one?

What's so bad about Pake forks?
I remember you mentioning that you don't enjoy Pake forks recently. What's bad about them? Heavy? Harsh? All that and more?

If you're going to use one Aerospoke, it goes in the front.
ive noticed that ppl with them in the front dont get laid as often as those individuals with them in the back..lol honestly, aerospokes for me are all for looks, and i just find it more appealing to have one on the back. logically yes, your right, lighter wheel on the rear and heavier wheel up front. but ima pick up a few stickers from you soon, for sure your logo to rep ya', ssfg, olr, and ill get maybe one more like the sheldon. |

Do you know if anyone makes "cork" tape without an adhesive back in a variety of colors? Cinelli cork is ****ing bull****.

Hey is it OK to use a multi-gear chainring in a fixed gear setup? I am having trouble finding inexpensive 110 BCD 1/8" chainrings. I would assume it would wear quite a bit faster than a thicker chainring. Any other problems?

To answer your original question though, you won't have any trouble using a road chainring. |
