I believe Planet Bike and Profile Design makes a cork/gel like tape with no adhesive backing, just a rubbery back.

striknein 03-27-13 09:51 AM

The problem I have with their tape is that unless I stretch the **** out of it, I typically don't have enough tape to do a full wrap. And if I want to remove it, the adhesive ends up tearing the tape where it overlaps.

I've also noticed that you can stretch it to a point where it loses elasticity. Maybe I just suck at bicycle.

I had this problem with my Caleido, didn't see it coming. I had to do one or two rewraps on each side, it was certainly harder to work with than other tapes I've used before but I got it down eventually. Kinda a pain in the dick.

Didn't go reading through all the pages since I would be here for days...but can you get any Brooks seat at the pricing that you're offering on your site? Seems their B15 and B17 are quite popular. Is there a reason you do not carry them? Looking to pick one up and wish they didn't have so many damned options to make it difficult to decide!

You don't have to read all the pages, but you should at least read the first.

What's your opinion of the Fyxation Curve compared to a Turbo?

Scrodzilla 03-27-13 08:57 PM

The Curve is bigger and has more cushion. Personally, I like the Turbo better.

seau grateau 03-27-13 09:05 PM

Yeah, figured as much. I'll probably save my change and spring for a Turbo later. Thanks

so today my LBS pissed me off by not having a simply alxle nut w/roating ring , then i got super pissed when they could not find the measuring tool for iit...so i decided not to buy the next thing on my list (freewheel cog) from them and outsource away from them for a while.

anyways- the deep v rims i picked up are missing axle nut on the front rim, the size on that is 9mm nut correct? and the rear is 10mm? (velocity deep v)

the velocity deep-v rimes i picked up were fixed/free and not fixed/fixed like i had, so its bugging me that while i ride fixed, the free side is just empty, also makes me feel like somehow dirt&debree and maybe water can get in somehow...is that even possible? im just wondering o.O ??

preformance only have the shamino mx30 and i was not gonna pay them any more money after the fact that i bought my tires and tubes there.
i saw you have it on the site for a buck more then what they were selling it, but wanted to ask if you had laying around any cheaper freewheel cogs?..dont care if its used either.
i dont ride free, but i do want to fill up that empty void space, ...i think i just like having cogs on both sides.
i found A used mx30 for $14 and the Dicta freewheel new for like $10 ...just figured i could buy some additional things from ya'
please let me know when you have the chance.

Do you know if anyone makes "cork" tape without an adhesive back in a variety of colors? Cinelli cork is ****ing bull****.

Try Salsa, I think they might.

Rims don't have axle nuts, hubs do. It depends on what hubs you have but assuming they are Formulas, you are correct - most modern track hubs have 9mm axles in front and 10mm rear.

If you're asking questions about Retrogression stuff, you're in the wrong thread.

I'm building an old errr vintage road bike and need a new seat post. I found this one that I like but my limited bike knowledge has me scratching my head, how do you adjust the seat angle with this type of seat post?

http://i45.tinypic.com/mlrseu.jpg

europa 03-28-13 11:54 PM

Cut it just below the head and reweld it :D

Seriously, it's no different to modern seat posts. Of the two bits that clamp the saddle rails, the bottom one sits in a toothed curve allowing you to tilt the saddle. This is an old post so it's probable the bits have jammed together. Remove the bolt completely, the top piece of the saddle clamp will just fall off, the bottom piece should just fall off but it may need some gentle coercion.

Soo__Fuego 03-29-13 12:17 AM

Got it, cut and weld it is.

im working in the budget of $20 tops.

Hey Scrod, I know you can get standard headsets that will convert a 1 1/8" to fit a 1" fork but is there anyway to convert an integrated 1 1/8" headset to fit a 1" fork? I'm wanting to fit a 1" fork on my volume cutter. Also what do you think of the volume cutter Scrod?

I've never seen it, let alone used it.

Why on earth would you ever want to use a 1" fork on a frame designed for trick riding? Buy a new fork.

Is FSA Dynamic Assembly Paste absolutely necessary for the SLK risers?

Not really because they have an aluminum core. Using it will still require less torque to keep them clamped tightly though.

What version of this stem will make it so it's parallel to the ground with my leader 725, i know that the leaer 725's headtube angle is 74, but I cant figure out how to calculate the stem angle.
