Just for yesterday's ride. I ran a brake and a machined front rim too.

I usually stick with 49/17.

homebrewk 09-19-11 09:46 AM

Awesome.

xavier853 09-19-11 10:15 AM

Ok. The bro who sold me my concept was running a miche bb. He stripped the tightening threads and drilled the cup to be able to get it on and off. incredibly stupid imo, but I have decided not to ride it until I get a new bottom bracket.

What would you suggest? Don't really want to go low end shimano, but the matching Sugino 75 bb for my cranks is around ~$100. Should i just splurge for the sugino?

The Sugino 75 BB is great but will require fairly regular maintenance to keep it that way. I've had absolutely no issues with my Protype from Ben's and as I said to Leuky somewhere else, I'd rather replace a $35 sealed cartridge BB every now when it wears out and then than have to mess with caged ball bearings.

I also use the Protype and am happy with it.

Scrod, are you using the retrogression hip bag? I need something to replace the bag I usually carry on my leisure rides(it tends to slip and dig into my shoulder sometimes).

How secure is the belt? any slippage? Is the bag comfortable with a full load?(u-lock, multi tool, patch kit, co2 pump, spare tube, etc.)

With the bag I'm currently using my u-lock will dig into my back if there's a lot in the bag.

I don't know, man. Just age.

No, this thread has been fun so far. Waking up this morning and having to answer 30 questions in a row while trying to get work done was a bit rough though.

I have a lot. My most recent one - silly as it is - are the words SWEET and DANDY written on my toes. The story behind it? I was drunk at a party where there was tattoo equipment present. I did it on myself. Good times.

Here's a pic taken the day after:

BTW - "Sweet & Dandy" is a song by reggae legends Toots and the Maytals.

dear scrod, please tell us all there is to know about love. your girl is an adorable 8 and you are a caveman-like 2, so you must know some secrets. or you just have a huge dong like two beer cans stacked.

Actually, it's two coffee cans with a honeydew melon balancing on top. ;)

I really don't know how the poor girl does it (but I'm glad she does). She's been putting up with my brand of bull**** for nearly six years now. We have a tremendous amount of fun together and are constantly laughing. That's extremely important. Even when we occasionally get grumpy and bicker about dumb stuff, we always end up cracking up. She's my best friend in the whole world.

Besides myself, you are the third person I've ever met who knows who Toots and The Maytals are. I like you more every time you post.

lolwut. i would have to try to get that done, they are pretty well known hell even people who think Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds rock have at least HEARD of them.

jimmytango 09-19-11 07:41 PM

Yeah, I'm not sure who Tim Reynolds is, but I'll put it this way: I went and saw Toots opening for Matisyahu a while back. During Toots's set, most of the crowd was wondering aloud who they were.

My first experience with live music was the Bad Brains at the Channel in Boston. The year was 1985 and I was 12 years old. It very literally changed my life.

evilcryalotmore 09-19-11 08:27 PM

Dear scrod, Progress on 735, Spill the beans. come on. :notamused:

I may end up aborting the mission, as it will end up being the exact same bike as my 725 with a couple of slightly wider tubes.

evilcryalotmore 09-19-11 08:52 PM

Dannihilator 09-19-11 08:53 PM
