Scrod, should I take Glucosamine sulfate, methyl-sulfonyl-methane and hyaluronic acid to help the longevity of my joints?

Dear Scrod,
How long was the turn around for your dodici? |
I have a Bern Brentwood helmet, and have discovered a bit of an issue recently. While I love the look and fit of the helmet, I've discovered that the built in visor is causing more of a hinderance that help. When I'm tucked down into my bullhorns, I'm finding it hard to raise my head enough to not have the visor blocking out some of my vision. This was never much of an issue when I was just riding on bike paths, but now that I'm commuting to work on somewhat busy streets I'd rather not have my vision block at all. Not sure if this is an issue with my flexibility, or if it's like this way for everyone. I've tried looking to see if Bern makes an insert that doesn't have the visor, but I can only find the winter one. The helmet is much to big when I try and wear it without any insert at all. Any suggestions? I'd like to avoid having to buy a new helmet, but if that's what I have to do I'll do it.

A new stem is gonna be cheaper than a new helmet.

You could also just remove the one row of stitches holding the visor on, as all Bern does is attach the visor to the standard liner. A friend of mine did just that and it was really easy. |

I've ordered the inserts without the visor for people before. I think they're around 12 bucks.

Hey, I've used this stuff for a while Glucosamine sulfate, methyl-sulfonyl-methane, mostly the glucosamine. It really did decrease any pain or discomfort in joints when it's used regularly. I used it because my knee joints have been bad for as long as I can remember and always had joint pain while growing up.
/notscrod I recently over worked my knees, too much uphill and simply too much riding. I have been taking the glucosamine, MSM, chondreoitin and hyalauric acid. It didn't do much (2 weeks), I suddenly started to craved milk. As soon as I started to drink milk and added calcium supplements to the mix... My knees feel so much better each day I do this. Also, just taking it easier, and not riding as much helps. |
Dear Scrod,
Is there an expected time frame for when retrogression will be have those nice skinwall continentals in? or did I miss something/should I look elsewhere? Secondly, where did your name come from (possibly already asked before)? cheers |
Questions having to do with Retrogression should be asked in the designated thread in the marketplace subforum, as stated in the first post of this thread.
My nickname is explained here. |
Does this Leader look legit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leader-721TR...#ht_823wt_1399
Looks fairly close to it's value, but I know there are a lot of fake leaders floating around. No shot of any serial/bottom bracket. |
It's real. Looks like a V2. The frame, fork and all the parts probably add up to over $700 but I doubt I'd pay that much.

Yo scrod!
Will carbon be damaged by rubbing alcohol? I de-badged a set of wheels, and want to get the left over adhesive off. |
Yo Scrod, on the Surly Steamroller, are the bottle cage bolts suppose to be angled out a bit? Because mine are.

They're definitely not supposed to be like that.

Another question... how come you only see single-sided track hubs with high-end brands like Paul and Phil Wood? |
Scrod,
Just wanted to pop in and let you know that, although I've only been on a couple rides with it, I'm really enjoying the LizardSkins bar tape. I like it a lot more than I thought I would... so thanks! |
Scrod, Why are FSA chainrings so cheap compared to others? and are they any good for a real track bike? What would you recommend for a 50t 144bcd?
Thanks! |
What's the finish like on the KMC 810SL? Does it have a nickel finish like you find on a 510, or is it more dull like most 410's?
Also, do I tape/bar end plugs/chain next or should I Gatorskin rear tire instead? |
