The 53cm Kilo is more like a typical 55cm frame. Will it fit her?

You think, for being one of the only high end track cranks and all, they'd get their **** together.

I mean, one set didn't even come close to fitting my Kagero, Scrod swapped them out for me, and the replacement ones were better, but not good enough and I had to file them down. Weird thing is, if you log onto Pedalroom, approximately 73% of the Kagero on it have Omniums installed. I don't get it.

For the price, I wouldn't even think about getting them again. The price to quality ratio of the S300 seems a lot better to me.

That would be exactly why I'm looking at the 53cm Kilo, because it fits relatively close to my IRO MK5 pro

I'll keep what you said in mind for new builds. I like them and they've been working wonderfully so far, but I ain't trying to go through those kinds of hassles.

Should I throw a suspension fork back on the dmr or keep it rigid?

Kagero's with Omniums piss me off for some reason, glad I didn't go that route. Perfectly happy with my 75's.

My commute to work is 14 miles one way, and this winter I will have fenders. I will (hopefully) be getting a new bike within the next month. I know I will be getting something with gears. Do I go steel touring and throw fenders on (I plan to do soke light touring next year anyhow), put fenders on a cross bike, or go for the carbon road bike I'm eyeing and commute on the Lager with fenders?

Also, opinion on Velocity hubs?

They are just rebranded formula hubs... can't go wrong with formulas, the econobox workhorse hub of SS/FG. They should be cheaper unbranded.

If it were me, I'd set up a cross bike as a touring bike.

This, but not a lot of places stock unbranded Formulas though.

I recently increased my gear ratio. I've heard a lot of people say that pushing a ratio that is outside your comfort zone can lead to injury, but I'm doing it because I want to become a stronger rider. There are some rolling hills on my 15mi commute and I found I was spinning out on the downhill. Now I'm not, but it's no walk in the park on the uphill.

Should I be worried about injury, or should I continue doing what I'm doing in order to become stronger? If increasing the ratio is not the way to become stronger, what is? How do I know when it's time to switch?

hey jimmytango, I used to live in Chicago...how are gears in the winter time there? I couldn't imagine doing gears there with all of that road salt and gravel from the really cool potholes that the cagers tear up. I would do a SS if I still lived there, no hills. Do share though, I would LOVE to see what you come up with for the snow.

You know when it's time to gear up when you become strong enough riding your current ratio that it becomes annoying.

Get strong, then gear up - not the other way around.

Scrod, would you recommend an aero spoke front wheel for street riding or for long distance cycling. Or neither, or both?

I had an Aerospoke a while back and it was fun but once the fun factor wore off all I had was a really heavy, impractical front wheel that was absolutely horrid in even the slightest breeze.

Hey Scrod Right now im using 700x25c thick slick deluxe tires. I really like the tires because i have not had a flat in months but they feel really slow if that makes any sense. i guess you can say sluggish.

any tires you recommend that are good against flats but feel better on the road?

I had no flats using Schwalbe Durano Plus, which are a lot lighter and have much better rolling resistance.

Ribmos are another awesome choice.

Are 25c Pasela TGs narrow? They certainly look it.

They're about 24mm wide on a standard width rim.
