i remember what i wanted to ask!

do you know of a decent chainring in 130 bcd that is the solid plate style like the FSA pro track/sugino messenger thats somewhere in the $50 range and is black?

i want one like it if i decide to get the s300s, but the messenger one is almost as much as the crankset+bb, and the fsa website was confusing and i couldnt even find the pro track ring on there

So... uh scrod... Its been a full weekend, you have a hurricane coming your way, and I havent gotten a shipping number or anything man. One would expect that you would bend over backwards to get my stuff in the mail. Wtf is up with this. Expect a bajillion emails pestering you until I get my package.

:troll:

What blows my mind is that we will most likely start receiving serious calls and e-mails just like that by tomorrow.

When is RG getting the IRD Defiant crank in a 165? If never, what is a good alternative? I like the FSA one as well but it comes in a 42t and I'm not finding any good retro style chainrings to fit.

Check out the Affinity track crankset. It is real nice looking. A lil more modern though.

Scrodzilla 10-29-12 01:00 PM

Who does your sewing? Also, how's the cleanup going?

UCF Eric 10-31-12 11:17 PM

Scrod, I've never handled a Pake French so I was hoping to enlist your expertise. My 54cm BK fits me pretty well, but seeing as it's cracked I've been looking to replace it and have had a hard time deciding between the 53 and 55 Pake. I'm pretty sure the 55 is the way to go but a second opinion can't hurt.

1koolkat 11-01-12 12:42 AM

Would you suggest a carbon seatpost (there is an aero one for $40 at lbs) or a thomson seat post, or Is there something else that is noticably better?

"A carbon seatpost" is pretty vague. The only part of you that will notice what seatpost you have is your eyes.

If your current frame fits, pick the size Pake with a similar top tube length. If your current frame doesn't fit, use a fit calculator.

I do a little of the prep stuff but it's mostly Angie.

Power is back on and the shop is clean as a whistle.

Sorry, man. Damn hurricanes!

There aren't many solid 130bcd rings out there. Don't skimp on a chainring.

its all good man just thinking ahead, no rush
thinking about bikes makes me forget about all the bull**** around me

have to do some thinking now
i feel like 75s or omnoms would be overkill with this build, the frame flexes before my origin8 cranks as it is
maybe il just go with the messengers, was interested in seeing what all this external bb hullabaloo is all about though

Much respect for Angie. Sewing is ****ing hard.

SS_Giant 11-01-12 04:08 PM

went in to get a new seatpost, and it turns out mine is 24mm which is made of narwal tusk or something stupid hard to find. my question is, do you have any knowledge where I could find a 24mm without paying for a custom made one? or would shimming a 22mm be the best bet? thanks scrod in advance

Scrodzilla 11-02-12 06:26 AM

24mm? Is it an old Peugeot?

SS_Giant 11-02-12 07:22 AM

yeah mid 80s

Scrodzilla 11-02-12 07:29 AM

Best of luck. I never even see decent 24mm posts on eBay.

Finding a shim and using something else may be your best bet.

SS_Giant 11-02-12 07:32 AM

alright thanks, l will just put this on the list of excuses to buy a new track frame. pops always told me you can never have too many bikes...

Scrodzilla 11-02-12 07:33 AM

True!
