That's really odd. I just pulled one of those forks off the shelf and all the 9mm axle nuts I've got here at the shop fit just inside that recessed part of the dropouts.

No (but I hate those things too).
Look at the attachment Carleton posted. |
Maybe a dud that got past QC? That happens sometimes.

The ones I've got here (Dura Ace, Miche, Campy and generic) all have washers that are a little smaller.

First of all, use a fit calculator and figure out what frame size you actually need. Secondly, do you want steel or aluminum?
Steel or Alu....not too hung up on either from what I've read as mostly riding hard-ish 20-30km round town but no track, not many long road rides and no real off-road either. As someone else mentioned, I checked with the Leader distro here and the Renovatio here has front/rear brake holes COMPLETE BIKES | BROTURES ONLINE | **********????BROTURES**********??? |
would i notice any difference in quality between a set of machine built wheels vs. a set of hand built wheels? (assuming the components are identical on both)

Thanks Scrod, done, CT should be around 56.4-56.9 according to www.competitivecyclist.com.

QC on A23s get any better recently? And are they really weighing out at ~430g?
|
I just sent a few back for having a ****ty finish and the joint seams on them usually suck.
|
IRD technoglide sealed cartridge or Tange Falcon/Levin or a VO headset
|
That largely depends on whether you want cartridge or cages bearings.

The only one I've ever personally used is the Tange Levin so I can't really have an opinion of the others.
|
Please stop asking me "would you buy this?" questions. That is not the purpose of this thread.
|
damnn I immediately deleted that cause I found I was in wrong thread but you got me.
|
how was opening night at the track? I saw on FB you guys closed early to go see some racing.
|
QC on A23s improve lately? and are they actually weighing in around 430g?
Know of a lighter 23mm wide rim? Only one I know of is the ZTR Iron Cross, but stans advises against mounting road tires(which blows, cause its a cool ass ****ing rim. 23.2mm wide, 17.5mm deep v, nmsw.) I kinda want to try it anyway. |

I already answered you about the quality on this very page. Published weight is accurate, they're 426g on my scale.

Archetypes only weigh 450g.

Archetypes are far superior rims. Use ultralight latex tubes if you're being a weenie about the extra 20g.
