~126 gear inches. that hurts my knees just thinking about it. must be a fun top speed but holy hell i hope you use a brake.

Muffin Man 04-07-16 10:25 PM

I rarely use my 50 x 11 on my road bike, and if I do, its because I'm sprinting downhill with a tailwind. I can't imagine having something that steep as my only gear

Seriously. For some reason everyone thinks Southern California is flat.

Got a link? There seems to be a bunch of different ones.

GX1 is a fine choice or GP1 or go for another if you want some bar ends. The GP series is certainly more comfort oriented while GX1 is more race oriented but both would be comfy! I haven't used or seen the downhill/enduro grips in person so I cannot say if they are good comfort wise or not but knowing Ergon they probably are.

I know, I was just being a turd.

File is just computer talk for gear ratio.

randomrider56 04-08-16 01:30 PM

my set up is a 12 tooth on one cog with the sram s300 cranks and a MOWA 56 tooth chainring. kmn kool chain. I was running the kool knight chain for looks but it broke. :'(

Jaytron 04-08-16 01:45 PM

Even at my fastest at the track, I never pushed anything close to a 56:12. I'm also a pretty big sprinter.

So either you're incredibly strong (again like olympic level) or your cadence is like.. 5

Scrodzilla 04-08-16 01:46 PM

Yeah, let's talk about something else now.

No not even close. haha. i am thinking about switching to a 15 tooth permanently. I strength train alot and ride more than i should. i really want to post a pic of my set up on here. how can I? I mean without it saying the picture file is too large.

Scrodzilla 04-08-16 02:02 PM

You need to upload the pic to a hosting site like imgur or photobucket, then copy & paste the img code into your post.

Dear Scrod

Does BFSSFG make you want to punch yourself in the face? If so how have you managed to be so active after all these years?

;) (glad i got the black tho)

Jaytron 04-08-16 07:50 PM

yo scrod, would it be too much of a pain to cut one of the pairs of bars I just ordered, down a bit? Hahaha

EDIT: Maybe nvm, I think they look just right for grips and a lever stock, without being a bus length wide.

Only qualm with the Metropolis is that it lacks organization. Switching shoulders with MW stuff is pretty cool though

Scrod, do you have an opinion on mess bags? What's your pref?

Your bike needs moar brands.

Dr. Scrod,

Oddball question for you. A brand new, hand built by you or another quality builder, 36h, 700c wheel, no mileage. If one spoke broke (let's say due to a defect in that spoke) how much would you expect that wheel go out of true?
