Our two best selling saddles are the Turbo and the Fizik Arione.

I love Turbos but can't sit on an Arione without wanting to die!

Ok thanks... I was digging the idea of using the bends sometimes, so maybe I'll just wrap em.

They look really cool completely wrapped, IMO.

Scrod, how popular are those gag items that you're selling on the new site?

Scrodzilla 02-02-16 07:05 PM

What gag items? ;)

In all seriousness, we've sold two Intern Judys, nine gummy sharks and one Black Sabbath vinyl box set since the site went live.

Mumonkan 02-02-16 07:06 PM

that is awesome, id love to order a gift for someone, ship it to their house, and they open it and theres a judy and gummy sharks in with some tiny bike part lol

Hey Scrod, you ever try one of those origin 8 cargo front racks on your bk? Got one for cheap and tried to install it tonight ... failed miserably. Not sure if it was user error or if the mount they included to get in the caliper hole just won't work with the bk fork.

Scrodzilla 02-03-16 11:11 PM

I've never used it but because the EAI fork doesn't have rack mounts on the dropouts and you'd need to attach it to the fork legs using P-clips (thus making the rack sit a little higher), the included bracket that attaches to the brake hole won't be long enough. Nothing a quick trip to the hardware store and a small amount of creativity can't fix.

Roger that. Thanks as always

Hey Scrod

I'm looking for a set of 31.8 risers right now, the deda streetissimos and the nitto 267 AA both interest me. Have you had any personnel experience using any of them and if you got an opinion? Just wondering does the nitto bar also comes in black or is there only silver?

Scrodzilla 02-04-16 07:40 PM

I've used both! They're both nice but have very different aesthetics. I like the Nitto bars much better. They have a little more backsweep too, which I happen to really fond of.

In response to your edit, the 267AA is only available in silver.

Scrod, any idea on when Aventon is going to start making all those rad new colors of the Mataro available as just the frames for sale?

Scrodzilla 02-08-16 12:13 AM

Not sure but I'll find out. I know they're already available in the UK and some other countries.

I've got something to add about saddle choice. I work at a LBS, and I recently learned that the curvature of your lower back is a good indicator of which saddle-style should work for you. If you have a straight back, go for a flat saddle (Arione, Speczd Toupe, etc), if your back has a more pronounced curve, you would probably be more comfortable on a saddle which also has a curve (Turbo, Concor, Romin, etc).

That might also explain why Scrod loves his Turbo, but can't stand the Arione!

Of course the best method is to try out as many saddles as you can, but with this rule of thumb you can rule out a lot of potentially uncomfortable (for you) saddles!

cali_axela 02-08-16 11:53 AM

For me, it really depends on the position on the bike, whether I prefer a flat or curved saddle. On my track and road bikes with a large saddle to bar drop, I strongly prefer flat saddles. On my touring/commuting and MTB I strongly prefer a curved saddle. Just something else to think about... </notscrod>

hey brotatochip,

whats the rise on them map bars?

Scrodzilla 02-10-16 01:55 PM

25mm

Mumonkan 02-10-16 02:03 PM

sweet, ima buy dat.

Scrodzilla 02-10-16 02:10 PM

Do it! You're gonna love them!

Mumonkan 02-10-16 02:20 PM

yeah i think so, i like my oxfords but i think id like more of an angle and less rise/drop

the fatbike really has me loving wider bars too so the 610 will be a welcome change

the non clamp area is standard mtb style 22.2 right?
