Mine are 4.25" by 7.25" and go for medium (sometimes small) for leather work gloves, medium for rubber palm work gloves, large for dishwashing gloves.

****. Hahaha.

My hands are known to look like sausages. I guess I have mini sausage fingers then.

Real question: Cane Creek SCR-5 hoods are known to be a bit wide, they also make a compact version for (from the reviews) people with tiny hands. Should I go for the compact version then?

The compact levers just offer a shorter reach to the lever, the hoods are the same, I'm pretty sure.

...this reminds me, where do you usually put your hands when you are riding with compact drops?

NP. I run 105 Shimano short reach levers on my roadie. Well, I broke one so I'm doing the combo now. I like the short reach better than standard, much easier reach from the drops. I guess the only worry would be whether your sausage fingers would get claustrophobia under the levers because of tight clearance. You can click back and forth on Cane Creek's site and kinda visualize the difference.

Here are my 105s, standard in foreground:

Can you say which Durano? I'm ruling out the tubular, but that leaves 3 others. I've ridden other Schwalbes and they have great road feel, but they're effing expensive...

This is how I ride too. Though sometimes the balls hand is scratching my ass.

I have the compacts on my TET. Everything is the same, except the blade curves closer to the bar.

They're expensive because they're really good.

I've ridden Duranos and Durnao Plus. Both are awesome and I've gotten no flats with either.

By elbows do you mean the part where the bars begin to curve?

Yup - also commonly referred to as "ramps". Considering the "ramp" portion of most compact drops is parallel to the ground, I feel it makes more sense to call it an "elbow".

hey scrod,

im 6' with 33" inseam. I noticed you had the premium brew/maxway frame in a 58cm and that we had similar measurements . How did that fit for you?. I really wanna nab the maxway but the the 56cm is all thats left.
i have fairly short arms FYI.
any feedback will help (maybe)
Thanks a ton!

I'm 5'10" with a 33ish inseam and long arms. My Premium Brew was a 56 and fit nicely but the top tube was a wee bit short.

16h radial lace
CX-Rays
I weigh 205lbs.

I wouldn't want it for myself and I currently weigh 195.

There's a lot of good wheels in between your proposed build and Julians. No need to go that far.

At 200+ I wouldn't go with anything under 32h if you're going to realistically ride in the street.. Why don't you try Velocity Fusions?

From my understanding the levers are angled closer to the bars so that shorter fingers can reach them.Same cable pull, just easier to reach.
