How does one read geometry charts? For example, what would show you the difference in geo between a Vigorelli and a Pista Concept? What numbers show you what?

Next to that 26mm sleeve (which is what I'm pretty sure you were asking me), yes.

The geo chart for my 55cm kilo says the fork has a 28mm offset. Is there such a thing as a steel 1" threaded version my my current fork? or would it be more economical to get my current fork threaded?
|
It's not going to be "economical" getting your current fork threaded - if you can even find a shop to do it. Extending existing threads is one thing, cutting them on a threadless steerer is another.
I'm not sure of any 1" threaded forks having a 28mm rake. There are a lot of discrepancies/inconsistencies when it comes to the Kilo and your fork may have more (or less) rake than what's listed on the specs. |
yuck. I swear i have seen a thread cutter looking thing hanging on the wall at the lbs.
I think it is time for this cane creek headset to gtfo. the seal on the bottom doesnt do anything against keeping water out and grease in. Just figured i could maybe go to a threaded setup while i am at it. |
I'm sure they have a thread cutter but as I said:

I was riding away from suppin SQRLs at a cross race today and decided I had cross skillz. Hopped a curb with a four inch drop, which normally is NBD cuz I'm leet as ****, but what I didn't see was that on the other side of the curb I was hopping down was a deep-ass hole. When I landed I heard a gnarly clink, and kept rolling. Upon further inspection, my bars slipped down a few degrees (I was on the horns when I hit), and I assumed that's what it was. But riding around later, whenever I hit a bump I hear a small clink coming from the front end somewhere. Headset isn't wobbling, rim is no less true than it was before, and I'm not missing any spokes. Any ideas?

I've had this happen before in the exact same scenario (no sqrl's involved). It's scary and hopefully nothing happened to your bars!

Bryan, I did that a couple weeks ago on my Polo bike and when I took my front hub apart to service it I found a bunch of metal shards rolling around the inside of hub. I don't know where they came from, but there weren't there last time I serviced the hub, haha. Is your wheel spinning freely? I don't know if you're having the same problem I'm having, but it's a thought.

Nah, my bars slip all the damned time. Cheap bars + cheap stem + 200lb rider = slipped bars.

Tried to open the hub, but the bearings won't come out. I may just take it in to a shop.

the halo coating on velocity rims-- intelligent choice for late-night city riding, which i wind up doing a lot of, or a joke?
|
Dave, you and Angie screen print all the RG shirts yourselves right? Can you PM me how the process happens and a good way to start? A simple reply is fine, I'll go ahead and Google it. I'm sure you know a bunch of secrets though. ;)

Too many /notScrods and my question got buried!
Also, when you die, Viking funeral? |
Seriously. I have no idea what could be causing that. Can you duplicate it when not on the bike and try pinpointing what area it's coming from?
When I die, no funeral. Funeral services are an incredible waste of time/money and no one ever wants to go to them. If those closest to me wish to get together and have a good time laughing and remembering our times together instead of sobbing over my awkwardly stiff body lying in a box, that's cool with me. |

I want a party, with a wax statue of me instead of seeing my corpse, and then push me out into Lake Michigan in a boat and blow it up. Viking funeral meets Hunter S. Thompson. |
Scrod,
Thanks for the prompt delivery! Now I have to wait for my tools. Damn Amazon... I shouldn't had been the one to fulfill my friend's free shipping. Do I still have to lube the KMC K710SL and my cog prior to installation? I noticed the chain is already lubed. |
Dear Scrod,
On a scale of 1 to 7,677,351 how would you rate this $18 Portland Design Works wrench? http://cache1.bigcartel.com/product_...encho-1-wm.jpg |
That's a pretty large scale. I will say that I like mine a lot.
