Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I've got the CK BB with Omniums on my Coltello:

So far working very nicely, unfortunately I do not have a lot of miles on this bike yet so can't give you a long term opinion.

FYI because of the stepped spindle on the Omnium, you'll have extra bits (adaptor sleeve and disc spring) involved in the assembly:

FWIW on my Windsor 'The Hour' I'm running an S300 crank with the "stock" BB, and have had no issues creaking or otherwise. The Windsor is (one) of my commute bikes, so it's out in the rain quite a bit. Have had the S300 on the Windsor for a couple years now, IIRC.

All frames were faced and chased prior to install.

Thanks! Front brake is a TRP T925F - Typically you'll see this kind of brake on Tri/TT bikes for more 'aero', did it on this one just for kicks.

I probably put my bike over 250lbs on a day where I'm grocery getting, though I'm not exactly mashing when I have 50lbs on my back. I'm just over 200lbs though

I have the same issues and I'm 5'10 and 165 on average, so it's not just the clydes.

GXP stock BB good, CK BB fine as a replacement.

Chris King GXP - sure, the best replacement when the stock BB goes bad. However, the included GXP SRAM bottom bracket on the 2012 model Omnium's have seen 3,000+ miles over the past year without a hitch. The BB cups needed to be tightened a couple times within the frame but besides that, set and forget. I like the way the BB looks as well, much more refined than the Shimano stock BB - the GXP cups are rounded, and have a better finish. Not sure about retail values, but the CK BB has more bling, but hardly recognized once on bike.

The omniums with the GXP are pretty loud on my cannondale, but not in a poppy or clicky way. I just hear constant whirring as the cranks rotate. I think the noise is amplified because the down tube on the capo is larger in circumference at the bb. So i blame the frame not the GXP.

If I ever need a new GXP bb, I want a gold one from bdop. It looks cool.
