The Voodoo Maji
I have been looking at the Voodoo Maji frame for a while now and have been waiting for some reviews to crop up somewhere on the web. I've expected some good reviews but after ~6 months the only user review I've found (though a very good one) is the one on urban velo (https://urbanvelo.org/voodoo-maji/).
I was wondering if anyone on the forums here has had any experience with this frame.
(Thanks in advance for the replies! This is my first post.)

Okay, dude. When somebody is a first time poster it is very bad form to point out some new frame that no one has heard of before and ask about it. This makes you look like a shill. If you have something to contribute, do so. If all you have is your new frame gtfo. Buy it and give us a review or something. If you haven't read about it, that is probably because none of us know this frame.

The frame is very recent and I was wondering if anyone has any input as to how they like it so far.
I didn't expect to come on to this forum (that I actually browse quite frequently) and expect someone to harass me on the semantics of "first-posting." Sorry anyways and hopefully others that haven't read that review I posted find it helpful.
@chrissss
That surprises me. I've only heard good things about Joe Murray's frames.

My brother owns one and is happy with it. Good construction, not terribly heavy, decent tire clearance, eyelets for mounting fenders/racks, pretty relaxed geo. There's really nothing wrong with it as far as I can see.

If you want it, get it. If you get and don't like it for any reason, then get rid of it and try again. Thats what I've found bikes to be about. Trial and error.

YEAH you mother****ing ****head! if you don't have any information on this frame, it's probably because none of us on this web forum you JUST joined know anything about it! why the **** can't you just know what all of us have been up to for the past 6 months?? for ****'s sake, how DARE you point out a new frame to US, the be-all end-all of SSFG knowledge, and then have the GAUL to ask us a QUESTION about it. it's as if you think that at some point one of us may have actually had any experience with this frame and NOT immediately posted on here about it! **** YOU new guy!

p.s. "Much like a mountain bike, the bottom bracket is high (278mm) and the top tube is short (520mm on the 52cm model)." i was unaware that a top tube of the same length as the seattube counted as "short"
did this guy get PAID by voodoo? it's another 4130 5-lb frame. it has nicer track ends and mounts for fenders or a rack, other than that it's same old same old, no better, no worse.

sorry to say it, but it looks god awful on the picture you supplied. that thing has some weird geometry
if you want a relaxed geometry bike, get a surly steamroller or cross check.
if you want a track bike with more aggressive geometry get a pake, kilo tt, or the excel from retrogression.

I was just saying I was in before someone just threw that option out there. I looked at what he posted, read the review, and I think I get what he wants. Hence why I said that if he wants to get it, to just get it already and tell us how it goes.

Thanks for the input guys.
I have a Surly Crosscheck that I currently commute on and I also have a SS built up on a SE premium ale frame. I like the SS because it is a bit lighter than my commuter and I like the simplicity. The SE frame is a bit too small however (56cm). I've had a Kilo TT frame as well on the same build but that was too large (seller claimed it to be a 59cm but fit more like a 61).
I've been looking for a used surly steamroller but they come and go very quickly so I've been browsing for some alternative frames. I've heard good things about Voodoo and they seem to have a good following of dedicated customers. The Maji is Voodoo's first line of SS road frames so I was pretty curious to see how the frame lined up with others of the similar caliber.
I apologize for the snappiness as well prooftheory.

The picture provided is of a smaller frame to fit the reviewer on Urban Velo. For more pictures check out Voodoo's website: https://voodoo-usa.com/bicycles/maji

Would a butted top tube be bad? I thought butting tubes helped shave weight where the frame experiences low stress. Is that not the case for SS/FG bikes? (I've searched for about 15 minutes and can't find much information about butting pertaining to SS/FG frames)

??? are you making that comment based on the first photo in the link to the voodoo site? you know that tubes are INTERNALLY butted, right? the apparent tapering of the tube is most likely a trick of the lighting. there is no way to look at a frame and know whether it is butted or not... and i HIGHLY doubt a budget 5lb 4130 frame is butted, ESPECIALLY if the website doesn't say it is.

I actually thought the review was pretty bland compared to some of the guy's other reviews. He didn't seem to make the frame out to be anything exceptional.
