Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Basically CA vehicular code mandates only a steady beam of orange, yellow, red hues and white lights as being road legal; all the others are deemed "off road" only. The monkeylectric can produce the entire spectrum of colors in a variety of designs and there's no mode that limits its colors. According to the law, the "other colors" are distracting to drivers and could cause a hazard.

Re read earlier post. Didn't see that you already had them.
At least you only got a warning. Mich PD's use a catchall "improper diversion" to ticket vehicles with underbody, fenderwell, etc. lights. I think it was kind of floating around in the back of mind that these lights might fall under the same catchall, but they have awesome looking patterns.

Nah CA cops here have bigger worries to be honest; the worst you can get is a corrections citation, take off said mods and have them inspect and sign off; rinse and repeat; same goes for cars.

For the record, if nashbar made these things they'd cost about $30.
