Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

We also got a TomTom which was really needed since we found out over the summer on our maiden voyage in the travel trailer that my wife is indeed a horrible navigator!

Happy Christmas all!!

Edit: And a special gift to me from me since I did a 500 mile round trip to see my family for 4 hours yesterday, I already opened the spiced rum!!

Short and long sleeve jerseys, windbreaker all by pearl izumi, giro fingerless jelly gloves, new helmet, topeak frame pump, obnoxiously bright (in a good way) led taillight, merino wool long sleeve, padded mtb shorts, and sigma wireless computer

Merry christmas everyone!

Almost killed myself several times on these already but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Rollers from Performance Bike:

And the other bike related stuff. PB tail light + lifetime supply of batteries for it and black Lizardskins DSP for my next set of drops. My sister said she was throwing out the box the DSP were shipped in and realized there was an army man and a Retrogression sticker Thx skr0ddd!

Got a sweet tie, book, new pair of Vans and more money than I thought I'd get.

This is the first year my bro didn't come home for the holidays (spent it with his other half's fam), so we're going to do the gift exchange when I go visit NYC in a couple weeks.

Yeah, that's a Christmas gift!

Me? 4 pairs of Smartwool knee-high socks, padded cycling shorts, hand knitted wool hat, socks and fingerless gloves. A sweet Lemond saddle from Shopgoodwill.com, a CD, some buttonfly 501 jeans and 2 sets of glove/shoe convection driers.

Mom bought me a rad tie, Dad got me a handheld camera and some King's Pounds (I'm going to England on the fourth to edit a limited-run newspaper, stoked!), and some ****-**** from Spain gifted me the attempt to steal my identity. Bank doesn't open up til Dec. 27, but it's looking like I'm all good. No bike-related gear besides some "honey stinger" waffle Lance gets endorsements from. Looks tasty, at least.

Madd tape. I'm guessing this is your favorite. I kind of like trying new tape just to see what's good.

From secret santa with my friends, I got:

A Blackburn Flea USB rear (no offense, but I don't even look at non-rechargeable lights)
Crank Brothers M19 multi-tool.
Freaking SCORE.

Got my wife a Swobo Sanchez single speed in silver.

Sold my Fuji track bike to a kid for what I am assuming was his x-mas present. Probably gonna splurge a bit on:

Velo orange tall stack stem OR
Thomson X4 in silver
Thomson elite seatpost in silver
Fizik Arione or Nashbar GR2

I had to order 3 3-packs in order to get free shipping, which made the deal worth it. I got into a CL buying frenzy a while ago so I have a ton of beat up roadies that will eventually need some slick bar tape along with a bunch of other work as I slowly relist them over time. I'll definitely use a couple sets for my own rides too, though. Its definitely fun to try out new kinds, as you said.

After the longest month of waiting eva', for Christmas I got my frame and components back from the powder-coating shop! I'm loving the new paint scheme. The paint is a little more copper-y than the pictures show.

Time for assembly!

!!!

Now I just have to get my new drop bars in the mail, too excited.

Got some xmas cash too, possibly a new saddle or pedals.

I hope that seatpost and stem weren't powdercoated as well. You might have a hell of a time getting them to fit.
