First time teaching my neice to ride without training wheels. Liv Adore by Giant, I scored it at the local bike kitchen for $20.00 Took the trainers temporarily(?) off and she got a few seconds of coasting onm She will need a new bike soon because hers is a bit small for her.

Today I rode 56 miles round trip to the Philly Bike Expo. I had a great ride down the Schuylkill River Trail and into the city. I stopped in at the new Philly Rail Park and snapped on the Philly version of the High Line. Nice place.
I also got some cool Philly socks,

Beautiful frame! What's the make and model?

It is a Cesare track bike from the 1990's. It was retired from racing and my friend gave it to me as it was sitting in his garage never to be raced again. I added brakes, bottle cage mounts and ran the brake cable through the top tube. I also made a custom head badge to memorialize my son. I have about 25k miles on it and love it. I did 5 Bike MS rides this year. More pictures on the build at: Memorial to Matthew R. Dille

Took the IRO into the woods a bit over the weekend. Confirmed this gearing is way too high. Need to pick up a smaller chainring and switch it to drop bars and then it'll really be ready to rock.

Another day, another ride. My usual weekend fun run on mixed road/gravel through the Sumas Prairie.
This is a section of the original Yale Road that stretched between New Westminster and the Fraser Canyon built during the gold rush of the mid 1800's.

A rest break at the original Arnold train depot. Arnold was a small farming community nestled beneath the shoulders of Vedder Mountain adjacent to the CAN/US border.

For some reason I call this one "Fish rides bike". An omage to the recent Sockeye Salmon run.

And an end run along dike systems and woodland back home. Depending on the route it can vary between 30-50km's of fairly flat and small roller hills - but with predictably common strong headwinds.

The photo below was taken the same day. Seemed like I had the trail all to myself.
