Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Finished some final brazing/grinding of my newest frame, & took it out for a 40-mile shakedown spin.

some of the pics were taken using a minolta srt101 and fujifilm iso 200 film, and the disposable camera shots were taken with a walgreen's camera that uses 400 speed film

try to get your hands on some fuji provia 100(great outdoor/landscape film) and kodak portra 100(great inside/people film), or fuji velvia 100 or 50 (slide film, might have to get it developed at a lab but colors are ridiculous with it)

Wandered around town today.

My favorite mural got a fresh coat of paint.

My hands were super comfy.

And I found that water bottle on the ground. *score*

I also make fun of people that drive them, but if given the chance, I'd see how fast it could go.

Something like that would be wasted on me. I sold my car and quit driving 5 years ago, and have since then become a giant baby about driving fast. I used to love racing around in cars and motorcycles, and now on the rare occasions that I drive I'm always well under the speed limit.

My brother knows all of this and likes to terrify me when we're riding together somewhere. He's got a Trans-am that'll do 150 easily, which he likes to remind me of any time we're in the car.
