For treating road rash, yes.

haven't done a whole lot of research about it in the aerodynamics department, though.

If you're a hairy person, it can get in the wound and it becomes a risk of infection. It also makes treating it a little trickier since you've got hair in the way when you're trying to clean it and stick a tegaderm on it.

For racers, it also helped with the massages that followed their rides.

Always hated this one..

Pull the gun on a perp and as soon as he sees it drops his knife and or gun and runs like hell(happens alot).. Guess you should start shooting at a retreating man.

I know its a saying and not on you just a pet peeve... carry on.
Maybe it's a samurai reference?

Oh, I thought it was because having hairy legs and concrete is like applying velcro to the street. And ripping it off forcefully.

I was thoroughly amused by this:

mrwesson, that nugget of common sense was handed to me by my father long ago and is more in line with what deadserious explains. my father, brothers and i were out aerating cans and making apples sauce with the 1911 and snub 38, to temper my stupidity and contain my cockiness my father said. if you are ever stupid enough to pull the gun, you better be smart enough to shoot the gun or else it will be taken from you and turned against you. i had shortened that quote, shooting an unarmed man has never been an expectable rule.

carelton, these may well be rules written by fanboys, but they have rule number 5. that has been a long standing rule of our design studio. all their other rules are just variations of rule no 5. with the ever increasing population of posers or hipsters or whatever one might call these people rule no is needed more than ever. when i stumbled in here and found the regular usage of HTFU as a reply i stuck around. they are a good laugh, because they have clowns willing to show that they are indeed in need of these rules

thanks for all the the knowledge i have gained here and for the laughs i get from here, this is a worthy forum.

You know, I was going to write a huge rant about how you take **** too seriously and generally hate all things roadie and funny (except maybe cats) but meh. Lighten up man, no one takes every one of those rules seriously.

That being said, Rule #5 should be followed at all times. Rule #9 is always true. Winter training is essential, any pro or competitive cyclist will tell you that - especially road cyclists. Winter training means ****ty weather. Pros are badasses. Therefore, riding in ****ty weather while winter training/base-building (like a pro) makes you badass.

It also makes applying sunscreen and winter embrocation much easier. Take it from a dude that used to have way harry legs. Besides it's tradition.

Yeah the first time always takes forever. I shave once a week or once every two weeks and it only takes about 20min.
