Good Deal

Is this bike worth getting for $450? I primarily going to use it for daily commuting and exercise. Not really interested in the whole track or fixed gear scene other it'll give me a better workout. So is it worth it?

https://2009.fujibikes.com/LifeStyle/...bsolute20.aspx

Also if I end up not liking fixed can I switch out the fork to one with a front brake eyelet so I can install brakes. Also what else would I have to buy if I decide I want a freewheel?

Thanks!

Its probably already drilled for brakes, and if it isn't it can be done......

not worth it.

Kilo TT.

Oh neat, I didn't know that there was a lugged Fuji Track. I find the excessive matchy-matchy to be a little obnoxious though. Kind of neat that it comes with double leather straps stock.

I probably wouldn't pay more than $400 for it, but it's also not really my style. The frame looks nice though.

If you want something to just get a work out out on just get a cheap conversion from craigslist.

That frame is what Fuji did with all the leftover Obeys. It's a nice frame made by Maxway but the fork is not drilled.

I'd rather have a Kilo TT Pro or Dawes SST AL.

I would say its not a bad deal for $400. Kilo TT is $360, the last time I checked. And much like JesusBananas: I do not dig the strict red-black colorway, unless you're going for a stealth Ninja on a Bicycle look

In my experience working at a shop that sold Fuji bikes, the bars and stem on the League are complete junk. That kinda takes a little bit of the "good" away from the "deal".

But look at the bars, seat and pedals Kilo TT is shipped with, which people proceed to swiftly replace. Plus this frame is lugged and appropriately comes with a threaded headset to eventually be accompanied with some nice old school quill stem for a classic look. At the same time this aggressive colorway completely negates the classic look : /

Call me crazy but I'd still rather put my $450 toward something I actually want.

i am sorry to contradict you & it is a small point, but that stem is definitely not junk. i am using a zenith from velosolo, which is the same stem, & it is pretty stiff as quills go & the 2-bolt front clamp is nice cuz it makes it as easy to remove the bars as a threadless stem.

op...you oughta check out the se premium brew/ale. if you can get past its unusual paint scheme, it is practically same bike as the league & it comes with brakes & a fw - all for $50 less...

How do you know for sure they are the same stems or even made in the same factory? A lot of parts look alike.

I found the stem to have a terrible amount of flex.

i had a green pb that i loved but we got run over & i had to replace it. along with the frame, i also liked the stem on that bike (except for the color) so went looking for the same one in silver & found it.
besides the fact that it is such a distinctive design, the real proof is the little oval with a 90 stamped in it at on the side near bottom of the stem. my gold pb stem had it as does my velosolo & you can see it in pictures of the coghouse stem on ebay.
if se used that stem, of course their sister company fuji used the same thing, they all (se, fuji, velosolo, coghouse, origin8) must have bought it from the same factory.
if it flexed on you, perhaps you are a bigger load than i am. but i am a hard rider, have a lot of mountain biking habits that i can't break even on pavement & i like that stem.

Gotcha. When I took the Fuji League out for a test ride after building one, I was very put off by the uncomfortable amount of flex in both the stem and bars.
