Scooped up the frame from the local Bike Co-op. Had a nasty looking red fork on it, a chain, headset, seatpost and Campagnolo BB. Replaced the fork, BB and seatpost. Added wheels, Shimano 600 Arabesque cranks, Cinelli 1A stem, Cinelli 65 Criterium bars, Brooks Swift Saddle, and a front brake.

Well, the frameset are currently for sale (local area only). Will be replaced by a 57cm Nagasawa Special, wish me luck

Antonio Taverna build this frameset for me. Planned as a low maintenance bike for daily commuting (220km a week). Slowly taking shape with Campa Record seat post, headset and hubs, Chorus Skeleton brakes, Pista cranks, Mavic SSC hubs, Selle San Marco Regal titanium saddle, 3T Pro Chromo stem, Merckx bend Super Competizione handlebar and Cane Creek levers (with Campagnolo rubber).
Waiting for Conti Giro tubes, Brooks bar tape, Miche chain and a set of Speedplay stainless pedals to arrive.

I put together this 53cm IRO Mark V over the weekend.

I wanted to go back to a steel frame. The ride is much better than the aluminum District that I had been riding. I also prefer a chain over the belt drive. And it finally gave me a chance to mount some proper short reach brake calipers, Bontragers in this case. I do like good braking.

I also used this American Classic seatpost to mount the Ti Rolls saddle. This seat post does not get enough attention, it is very adjustable and super light.

The District had felt a bit big at 56cm. It had long chainstays hence a long wheelbase and also a giant 16cm head tube. The 53cm IRO is on the small side with a very short 10cm headtube. I have a 140mm stem, party for reach and partly for rise. It's quite comfortable though I might try a 130mm stem some time. I prefer to be a bit stretched out vs. hunched over. And the forward bars are superb when pedalling out of the saddle.

Sitting in the dining room. I was sent two drive side pieces for my eccentric bb and am waiting on the non-drive side to arrive in the mail. Should be the only piece I need to get it riding hopefully.
Here's a crappy cell phone pic of it thrown together. Bought two new stems to see if I like something not silver better to match the seat. Have different chainrings than pic'ed now too, 50/46 to go with the 17/21 dingle. Still might get carbon wheels too, who knows

That photo does not do your bike justice!

Once I've got it all together I'll go ride a metric century, then I'll steal a decent camera and take nice pics. Can't be another bike forumer and post up studio shots with the caption "just put it together, haven't ridden yet, still need to adjust things."
And while I have it here, what color bar wrap? I'll take the 216 color splash off and put something more appropriate on.

Bikes: looks like a specialized crux now
built this a few weeks ago, went out to test it, and on the first ride both tires popped, crappy rim strips.

Looks like a great bike.
Whats up with that ~5mm gap between the fork and headtube? Bearing not seated properly?

forks prob just sittin in there with the stem not clamped down or anything
i love the frame but im not excited about that saddle
i would go with black tape, i doubt any celeste bartape would match that tone, looks a bit darker than most

Yes. It is hard to see in the photo but the actual seat post is just an aluminum tube with a 110° bend at the top. It weighs nothing. Then the 3-piece clamp attaches to the top. Because of the curve you can slide it forward and back (only a slight amount) to adjust the tilt of the seat. It is a little fidley to set up but seems to hold fine, and I weigh 205 lbs. I trimmed off the excess tube since I did not need it and it looks a little better.
