Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? It's so you can hold your cranks in place once your chain breaks.

I had a Suzuki Titan that I had to ride like this for a little while (hand clutch/foot shifter tho), after the front wheel locked up on a wet street and the lever broke off. Was interesting.

My first time posting in this thread. I normally try not to hate, but this build deserves to be scorned.

JA? Unsure...

It's odd seeing a 650c front wheel on something other than a pursuit frame or Terry bike (which also look odd -- but at least you know that they're supposed to look like that).

The bars on the Bianchi match the pedals and it has dice valve caps. I give it five stars.

I dunno about that one. It's too busy for me, so it fits the thread. Definitely more cluttered than most of your builds, Squid; I'm surprised at the five star.

I had a Yamaha XS650 with a suicide shifter, but i had a front brake. Tricky at first, but after that was simple as pie.

Try it with no front brake......on a hill. It's a challenge.

Right foot needed for brake so you don't roll backwards. Left foot needed to disengage clutch. How do you balance 600lb Harley chopper with no feet on the ground?

Impossible.

The only method that works for stopping at a red light on a hill is, NEVER put it into neutral. Roll to a stop pressing in the clutch with your left foot and finding first gear with your hand, put right foot on the ground for balance, and feather (constantly ) the clutch to keep from rolling backwards. You never need the brake and you're ready to go when the light goes green.

Stupid. PITA. Plus you go through clutches fast.

Gross. It's like somebody ate a box of crayons and puked all over a perfectly good bike.

The real tragedy here is that some of the parts are actually decent, if mismatching (Brooks saddle, Brooks grips, Pista Classica frameset), but the whole is way, way less than the sum of those parts.

ive always hated that frame, the off-white lugs just look bad IMO

its like they primed the lugs but forgot to paint them with the rest of the bike
