Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Google translate:
"Road full fairing Museum Collectors crazy winter training Bochum"
Rennrad Vollverkleidung Museum Sammler völlig verrückt Winter Training Bochum | eBay

-Is the full fairing supposed to keep the cold air off you while "winter training?"
-Wouldn't the lower box section just act as a huge snow plow while winter training?
-Is the upper section cardboard that will just fall apart when wet?
-Is that "aero" on the fork blades? What about that huge flat box surface? lol

So many questions....

The description more or less says: "The bike is fully useable. It was a handicraftwork from a few years ago. The cover is made out of aluminium and plastic material named astroboard. You can train in the winter wearing only short trousers. I used to ride it up to 120km in winter, but I'm too old now. The fork was moved forward using carbon, the brake was lowered using carbon." Plus a few more things about shipping. Wow

Short trousers are critical.

Thanks for the translation! Did you translate that yourself?

Kind of gives more meaning in that bike...can't believe that bike was riden that far. haha Just seems like a total death trap.
I'm not a fabrication guy so someone please help...that fork looks like steel. How is carbon joined to steel for a strong enough bond to actually hold a wheel? Is it bonded? Please tell me it's not something like JB Weld/epoxy...

yes, but since german is my mother tongue it wasn't too hard

I don't know, it just looks as if he cut the fork and wraped it in carbon fiber.. But I have no idea if that would hold up for so long?

From what we can see, that bike looks pretty rad other than the bars.

Last one: I see a rear brake back there... But no cable in sight.

Not gonna lie, my bike probably belongs here right now. I'm running 38mm front, 25mm rear... It's not too bad, much quicker acceleration and stopping than when I had the 38 on the rear for winter.

Roads are gnarly this early, inch wide cracks perpendicular to the road every few meters. When I tried a thin front tire, I was afraid for the rim. With the 38, I'm flying.

For $1000, would you take this down a fast 5 mile downhill mountain pass? You would have to beat a reasonable time.

Sure, for a grand I would strap it on my back and ride my bike.
