from an industrial design standpoint this thing is pretty cool. I mean it steers with its front hub! Its kinda rad.

and yeah its not something people will ride daily, but definitely has its (non jackass) spot in the world.

although I'm not sure I completely agree with the chosen geometry...

Hub center steering will still have trail and an inclined steering axis to generate it. It is a useful design to isolate the steering function from the suspension. I guess here it eliminates the fork and makes the packaging neater. One down side is large turn radius, since the front wheel can only turn so far before it touches the frame.

I think that's because lower down on the seattube is wrapped in leather.

Someone musta stole some of dude's leather so had to resort to bandana for carbon protection.

I have to agree with this, but I feel like thats a good thing (mostly because I'm a design student, and would love to have a brief that lets me utilize some facet of cycling)

and about it being a buyable project: doesnt mean it wasn't a design project, their site is clearly more focused on the industrial design (read: Form) of the bikes instead of the perfect riding setups.

I don't get what's wrong with the cargo bike, though I may be missing something. My friend has a Bullitt cargo bike that she uses to do urban beekeeping. It's pretty rad.

There's a mighty big difference between the two. The one you posted serves a purpose and is meant to be ridden, while the one I posted is a brakeless fixed gear boutique art piece.

The version in the link that JeremyLC put up does have brakes. Cargo bike + brakeless = jackass.

their site claims its a 2 speed freewheel hub setup with a front disc brake, not sure why that picture doesnt show it, but the site does.

Buy one and ride it around.

I see evidence of a coaster brake, which ain't much for a cargo bike but is technically a brake.
