Tire recommendations
So I'm about to buy a new wheel set and I need tire recommendations for the back tire. I have a Pro4 in the front, and I'm riding brakeless so I will skid when I need to and I need a fast, light tire that can withstand a little skidding.

I don't skid often, just when I need to. Maybe once a week for a second?

Why bother skidding at all? I ride brakeless and never find myself needing to skid.

Do you ride in a pretty open area? How do you control your speed down steep hills?

if I'm going fast down a hill, I find it hard to slow down quickly.

That's because you can't. Once you get momentum you're screwed. You have to keep your speed in check from the beginning.

I personally bomb the **** out of hills and i have no brakes nor do i skid, i live in a congested area with lots of young terrible drivers and plenty of traffic signals
the difference is i know if i can fly down the whole hill when im at the top of it. I dont get to the intersection at 35 mph and say "****, i have to stop in 10 feet"
if i know im potentially going to have to stop soon i dont spin it up that fast
that being said dont get armadillos, cuz they dont like the sw8 skids

You guys sure seem to make a lot of sacrifices just so you can not have a brake. Personally, I choose nice tires and piece of mind.

Cool generalization, bro. I may ride brakeless most of the time but use nice tires and don't need to ride like an idiot. As Mumonkan said, I'm not going to fly down a hill with a busy intersection at the bottom and have to panic stop if I want to live. Instead, I ride responsibly.
FWIW, I see roadies (who obviously have brakes) riding like wreckless ******** through congested downtown areas - which is something I wouldn't do regardless of whether or not I had brakes.
Also, there's already one stupid thread where brakes are being discussed. This stupid thread is about tires.
