Unintentionally fasting on Yom Kippur.

Jaytron 09-14-13 04:32 PM

Today I raced State District Championship's team sprint.

Our team did ok. Apparently my lap was really fast. In my head I seemed to start faster than our first guy, and started to drop our 3rd at the end of my effort, so I think we could've gone faster. Our 3rd guy was super tired and said he dropped a ton of speed in his effort.

All in all, a good experience.

Disc wheels are the hacks.

Today I weighed myself this morning and it showed 222lbs since I started being more careful about what I eat. Before that I was roughly 230lbs. Very happy with the results so far.

After that I rode my bike to the store I buy most of my beer from. A friend who works there hooked me up with this.

Bought a couple bottles of beer then on the way home stopped at Jimboy's and had a chicken quesadilla with a raspberry tea.

That's terrible advice.

Some contact lenses are advertised as being safe to sleep in. Not a big deal if you do it occasionally even if they are not advertised as such.

Some people's eyes are more sensitive to bacterial infection than other's. I only remove mine every couple weeks after having worn contacts for over a decade. I once got a nasty bacterial infection and ademal swelling of the cornea after getting carburetor cleaning solvent in my eyes. That sucked. Had to use polyvinyl alcohol eye drops for a while. Anyway, some eyes are more tolerant to neglect and abuse than others. I'll probably get LASIK surgery some time soon.

Anyone watching the fight?

Lasik changed my life...that sounds ridiculous, but I have to say it was worth it.

I did the spit/bottle cap thing once. It was gross but it does work. I was kind of joking, didn't think anyone would actually do it. My contacts would drive me nuts if I didn't take them out night and sleeping in them was impossible. I never forgot my contact solution and case after that.

I watched it. Pretty much the outcome I expected. I thought Alvarez looked really composed throughout, and was about as competitive as any Mayweather opponent in recent memory.

seau grateau 09-15-13 03:02 AM

I read that Mayweather was making a guaranteed $41.5 million on that fight and almost killed myself.

TheRealFaux 09-15-13 03:22 AM

Yesterday I dropped off my cross bike at my LBS because I was having a hard time setting up my front cantilever. Today I picked it up and it was setup worst than when I had brought it in initially. Furthermore, the mechanic said, "we're not really familiar with the yokes with the screws, do you know how they work?"

WTF SERIOUSLY?

Yeah work on my bike, give it back in worst state than when I dropped it off and still charge me a labor cost. Cool.

I hope you they gave you a break on the price.

That's crazy talk. I could spend any amount of money with enough time. There are private islands, jets, helicopters, yachts, cars, houses to buy. Give me a billion and a week and lets see how much damage I could do. New bikes for everyone!

johnnytheboy 09-15-13 02:10 PM

it's decent.
it's much more convenient that carrying around my x100.

Mumonkan 09-15-13 04:26 PM

today i shredded some gnar on my fuji and road thru all the woods.

learned that apparently rosebushes and devils club are the most popular plants on said trails.
came out looking like i fought the predator, bloody scratches everywhere and thorns embedded in my arms. totally badass.

also feels really great to scratch that exploration itch, nothing like just going with the flow in some completely unknown terrain just going by the feels

Hell yeah man. That's my favorite part of playing bikes.

thewilson 09-15-13 05:07 PM

JohnDThompson 09-15-13 05:55 PM

Gathered nuts instead of riding:

I finished this over the weekend and Jesus cross bikes are awesome. I went with full 105 & retroshift levers and absolutely love them. I'm using the gold trp eurox until the black parts kit comes in.
